wild one in college station
The state's most intense rivalry, baylor vs a&m, is in it'd 4th OT right now.
and A&M has shot 55 free throws, making just over half of them.
This is a must win for both teams. Baylor wants to stay in the top 25 and A&M absolutely cant go 0-3 in conference in their first b12 home game.

Absolutely insane boxscore
BU has 6 eligible players left, and 3 of them have 4 fouls.
A&M's FT shooting... wow. And it's Sloan that's killing them.

from jan 4th
Brittney Davis scored 30 points and Ashley Allen added 29 on Thursday night to lead Oregon State to a 94-88 double-overtime victory over Arizona, which played the final minute with two players after everyone else had fouled out.
Arizona played the final 1:28 of regulation and the entire first overtime with four players after two of the six who had dressed for the game fouled out.

You definitely can in college
In fact, a Rick Barnes coach Clemson team once finished with four in a game at Carolina. The game wasn't close and I think there was only a few seconds left but I distinctly remember Rick joking like he was going in by taking off his sports coat.

Damnit!
Where the hell are the old people that used to play on 6 man high school teams when you need them?

So many weird stats, A&M shot 59 free throws...
so far..

Holy God
Folks, we're in a FIFTH overtime.
FIVE Baylor players have fouled out. They've been called for 38 fouls so far, allowing the Aggies to shoot 59 free throws, 23 of them have been missed.
This is it. Baylor has NO BENCH what so ever.
Two of their remaining players have 4 fouls. If one of them fouls out, what happens? Forfeit or play with 4 players?

WOW
We f-ing HAVE to beat Baylor now.

Baylor is 16-2 and just beat a ranked team on the
road. Impressive. With KSU looking good, the Big 12 is going to be very interesting down the stretch.

baylor's gonna be tough
especially with the way aaron bruce shoots threes over our perimeter D.

its over
Baylor wins 116-110 in 5th overtime.
by vivalonghorns on Jan 23, 2008 10:43 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
final, 116-110 Baylor
this box score is sick. Aggies shoot 36-59 FT (61%) and 4-22 3PT (18%). I bet they wish they would've drilled a few of those.
And I bet they miss "Mr. Clutch."
Curtis Jerrells should win conference POW just for this line. 36 points, 20-24 FTs, including 4-4 in the last 24 seconds to put it away.

A@M 1-3 in conference
WOW.
I'm sure they'll have their best game against us, anyway.

OK
Normally I would shy away from this... but this is what schadenfreude is all about. I can only hope that we take at least 6 OTs to lose to Baylor, should that occur. That said:
Baylor Beats A&M. The Webpage.
I'm sure they'll have a basketball version up very soon.
This rivalry is getting intense. We should see how Beergut feels about switching Arkansas with Baylor in Dallas.

Mark Turgeon is doing an incredible job
tearing down everything Gillispie built.
He was handed a top 10 team on a silver platter, and is very quickly driving them into the ground.
I haven't seen coaching this bad since Melvin Watkins walked our sidelines.
Baylor had 5 players foul out, and has no one on the court taller than 6'6.
The obvious solution is to pound the ball inside to our post players, right? Nope. Turgeon goes small, to match up with Baylor.
Idiot, idiot, idiot.
I don't see why you guys are worried about us. We have talent out the ass, but we don't play defense, and we're lost on offense.
We'vwe already lose to two mediocre teams, and I'm really not sure Baylor is better than mediocre (beating us, ranked or not, is not an accomplishment right now.
texas will beat A&M, simply b/c Barnes can take a crap, and lose more basketball knowledge than Turgeon has in his whole body.

underrating Acie Law
Do you really think this was a top 10 team? Sure they looked good at first, but they didn't really play any quality opponents, and they still have no true road wins all year.
I don't care how good your bigs are (they're good, but not great, you just have a lot of them), you're not going anywhere in college basketball if you don't have at least a solid PG, and your Sloan guy is disappointing. If he just made half his FTs, y'all would have a quality win over a decent Baylor team.
To go from Law IV to Sloan severely damaged your squad.
Could A&M be NIT bound now?
