Two inside looks to Atchley
Need this

Great play
Great passing and cutting. Easy lay in for Connor.

Looks like no one wants to dance
but going inside to Atch works so far.

0-2
AJ with two more misses from three. That's at least 9 straight misses

WTF

And did it
require laying it in a dude's lap?
ABCD?

Three lightning bolts?
but there could be other significance. Someone up on urban symbolism?
by whills on Jan 26, 2008 7:21 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
The only good thing about that
is that he is overdue on a hot, hot streak. The only real question is whether it will come when the Horns really need it or on the backside a game long over.
With two fouls now, he will stay out for a while.

6-5 Texas at under-12:00 TO
Neither team shooting the ball well early. Texas with decent movement on offense, and two good inside looks. Looks to me like Rick has told the guards not to jack jumpers without at least trying to see what's working inside.

Mack Brown
wondering if Damion James can play safety next fall.

Reaching fouls
That's our fourth reaching foul. Refs calling this pretty tight.

Johnson playing better tonight
Using his strength and looking less tentative.
by Peter Bean on Jan 26, 2008 7:27 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Sumo match.
First one out of the circle loses.
I do like trying to push it in; Horns aren't crushers but they're making it work slowly but surely. Someone is gonna make a run here within next two minutes or so.

Nice
Johnson using his body well here. And the foul.

Barnes
you can count on him to figure out how to shut down Knight's offense. We're doing it once again, but our offense is just as bad if not worse.
Chapman for 2.

WATCH THE GAME ONLINE
Can't watch it on TV? Go to this site.
Click on "College Hoops" in the upper right hand corner. Then look for the Texas/Texas Tech game.
First, you'll have to install some kind of movie player into your browser (mine is Firefox). That shouldn't take long.
Install it, reboot Firefox, and then go back to the Texas link on www.raptorsnation.net
Now you're watching the game online.

way of on the fade away, somehow the ball comes back to you, and then you runover a Tech defender.

but Gary has to catch that one. He's going to get so many open opportunities like that from DJ penetration.

I believe you can also watch entire games that are already finished in their archive section.
So if you missed it, you can watch the entire game later.
And for anyone who has the time, they can use these vids to make Texas highlight clips.

From the "O" Deck
- If it's all about the match-ups...is there a better team than Texas Tech for UT match up against? Besides Concordia, I think not.
- Is it just me or does a flushed face Bobby Night look like Eddie Sutton on Weight Watchers?
- Nothing like a double-digit no pressure lead to cure your 3-point shooting woes, huh, AJ?
- So far every camera pan on the UT student section has been a major Nerd Alert...get a fuckin' hair cut already...more Texas Palm please.
- Rick Barnes' ear torments me.
- Do you think Bobby Knight's son and the kid who liked to film paper bags blowing in the wind in American Beauty are kindred spirits?
- I don't know who this Chapman kid is, but his nickname is Q-Tip or Swab...I can cut my own hair better than that.
- Is anybody else as concerned as me about the lack of minority ownership in the sport of Pigeon Racing? Keeps me up nights.
- Reggie Bush's step dad wrote his name in concrete in the driveway at that $750K house in San Diego they were living illegally in...saw it on REAL SPORTS, good show even though Bryant Gumble is a pompous piece of shit.
- Does this game or season even matter with KU playing the way they are...holly crap, they're so good they could win by 20 with Mangino playing point.

AJ
Has shot his best this season when the game is not in question. Not ideal. But hey, maybe this'll help him get on track.
Funny that Rick Barnes' ear torments you. My Dad hates the collars on his dress shirts. (I'm not kidding.)

I'm still waiting for Rick to bring...
Trench Coats back into fashion.
That's it, we're all wearing Trench coats to the Baylor game with only a pair of Baylor Bear green velvet underwear underneath.
Who's with me?

Some dude is STUDYING at the basketball game!

Like I said...
NERD ALERT...I graduated with a 3.1 from Texas and studied never. The only time I went to the PCL was to read the walls in the bathroom...the best smack down you'll ever read. Plus, you could gain immortality by slamming ham in the stacks with an equally illiterate Tri-Delt.

WOW
Now it's Johnson's turn for a monster dunk.
Maybe it's too early this year, but next year our front court could be fun with Pittman and Johnson. With James probably gone, the spotlight will be on them along with Connor.

Great win
Horns continue to own Texas Tech under Bobby Knight, picking up a 73-47 win. Excellent home win; saw a lot of good things tonight.

how did the ags lose to this team?
Never mind. I'm just saying...
by horndude on Jan 26, 2008 8:58 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
BCG and Turgeon
are too damn stubborn. That's why they can't beat Tech.
They both hate to play zone. It's almost like they think it's unsportsmanlike.
All you need to do to beat Tech's motion offense is to go zone. It's not hard really, but Turgeon stubbornly plays man-to-man all game.
I mean seriously, what are their priorities? Apparently it's not winning. They must win "the right way".
Thankfully for us, Barnes is not that stubborn. He's much more flexible and willing to change schemes to make a favorable matchup. Barnes' zone destroys Knight's offense.

Good stats
Outrebounded Tech 37-24, including 10-5 on off. rebounds.
15 assists and 9 turnovers.
3pt and FT's are still bad; 29% and 69% respectively. But despite shooting 29% from three, we were still 45% overall. We were 5-17 behind the arc and 26-57 FG overall.
That means we were 21-40 inside the arc. That's over 50%. That's good stuff. Penetrate more and get easy baskets. Helps to have a great size advantage like we did tonight.
by goingforthecorner on Jan 26, 2008 9:11 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Good game for Pittman.
In 10 minutes 7 points (1 for 1 from the field, 5 for 5 at the line, was fouled 3 times), 5 rebounds, 1 steal, block and assist, only 2 fouls and 1 turnover.

Did we talk about AJ's fade yet
The side of AJ's head looks like a cross between a drunken night at Pro-Cuts and a bad edition of Alien Crop Circles on myth busters.
I'm all for letting your soul glow, but quit getting jiggy with the Narelco.
He looks like the Fresh Prince of Del Valle.
