Will Muschamp interviewing
According to Orangebloods, Auburn DC Will Muschamp is interviewing for a position with Texas.
I just heard this on the radio and have no Orangebloods pay account. Can anyone provide any details?

Three sources
MUSCHAMP COACHING EXPERIENCE
1995-96- Auburn (Graduate Assistant)
1998- West Georgia (Secondary)
1999- Eastern Kentucky (Secondary)
2000- Valdosta State (Defensive Coordinator)
2001-04- LSU (Linebackers/Defensive Coordinator)
2005- Miami Dolphins (Assistant Head Coach for Defense)
2006- Auburn (Defensive Coordinator)
I like that he has a foul mouth, hates Arkansas
and defends the pass well.
Plus he is young and would break the typical Mack assistant mold. Too many overweight middle age white guys on staff, IMO. Not that I have a problem with that.
proof of fire
Boom, yeah knock these mofos out.
Love the passion and fire. Have not had a guy like that since Greg Robinson. He has been my favorite DC by far. He, IMO, had the best defense for UT in 2004.

top of the wish list and what happens to DA?
Muschamp would be a great hire. Given that he's coached both LBs and DBs in his past is there any indication what is in store for Akina?
I'm guess that Mack would give him the option to stick around as the DB coach with an co-coordinator label but this may be the nudge Akina needs to finally take a DB job in the pros...
Holy hot smoking damn!
Yes! Yes! Yes! Hire Boom Motherf***er right now! I LOVE Auburn's defense!
Sorry... given the proximity, it's contagious.
Speaking of philosophical differences...
what's Mack's philosophical stance on dropping an MF on the opposing team?
the thing I wonder about Muschamp
is how good is he, really?
Y'all are going back to the same well with Auburn.
Chizik was supposed ot be the architect of a badass defense there, and he came to texas, and Auburn experienced no drop off with him gone.
I suspect it isn't so much Muschamp or Chizik, I think it is Tuberville. If Muschamp comes to Austin, we'll see if I'm right by seeing how Auburn does next year.
So why did Aggie fans want Muschamp?
Chizik left Texas and there was a drop off.
yeah, but what happened with TEXAS
we don't care what happened with Auburn after Chizik left. We only care what happened with Texas after Chizik got here.
And, despite playing 2 teams that finished in the top 5 in 2005, the Texas defense finished #8 in the country in scoring defense, #10 in total defense, went 13-0 and won a national championship.
solid hire, if you ask me.
So what of LSU?
I'll grant you that Tubby has a keen eye for defensive assistants, but Muschamp's record as an assistant at LSU was very impressive as well.

And Auburn's defense is LOADED next year anyway
So no matter who coordinates them, they're going to look good. Look at Muschamp's body of work - not just his time at Auburn.
