Muschamp Hired!
...according to Fox 7 News in Austin. I love the hire as it's a commitment to an elite defense. I'm sure we'll learn more about him over the next couple days.
I also heard there might be a press conference tomorrow at 10 am but that was off a message board. Not from Fox 7. It will be interesting to hear what Akina's role will be. I assume just defensive backs coach.

Love the hire.
We should finally have some nastiness on defense.

What should we expect?
The only things I know about this guy are what I read here today. I also don't watch much Auburn football. Can anybody fill me in on what this guy likes to do on defense? Are the Horns in store for any scheme changes?

It will be much more nasty.
From what i saw from Auburn is that their D-Line is really good. We will get much more pressure with our D-Line and be overall more nasty, fisty, and maybe even dirty. The intensity level of the defense will be turned up a notch. I think it is a fantastic hire.

KXAN not confirming
Quoted it as from blog (HF, I think). Says UT hasn't confirmed, no press conference scheduled tomorrow as of 10:25 p.m. broadcast.
Of course, they could be out of the loop.
I don't see it on ESPN front page or Rumor Central.

Special teams coach?
Looks like DC is a check.
Who are we interested for special teams?

Will Muschamp...
....was Nick Saban's DC during their NC season at LSU. He then left with Saban to coach the Dolphins. He went back to college football when he accepted the DC job at Auburn.
He would make an excellent HC in 2010 after Mack collects his $1.2Million longevity bonus and heads to retirement.

On Mack's retirement.
Do you guys know exactly when Mack will retire? I hope he sticks around for another 10 years. If he does decide to call it quits, who would your ideal replacement be (besides Major Applewhite)?

I blame you
If this falls through.
OK, I blame Fox 7 in Austin.
I hate when news people hear "agreed in principle". That shit is fool's gold!
