Triangulation: Sources All Pointing To Darrell Scott Committment
- My source says Scott to Texas is "going to happen."
- Orangebloods reports the same.
- Orangebloods' most reliable poster hasn't waivered (he's been way out in front of everyone).
- An emailer with a similarly well-placed source is telling me the same thing.
Is this a done deal? I'd say yes if there wasn't any family involved; as is, until the pen's on the paper, we're probably wise not to pop the champagne.
But if you wanted to put your face in a pillow and woooooooo! I wouldn't blame you.

Per a different CU board..
not from the rivals network.
Scott gave a verbal to one of our coaches, and our coach let it out of the bag.

SPLASH!
PB, if we get Scott, is this the best UT football off-season of all-time or at least since you've been a fan?

eBay
What do think the letter VY signed committing to Texas would go for on eBay?
For most fan bases, I'd say no more than four figures, but with Texas' alumni, I bet it would get to five figures easily.
This offseason is without peer
Muschamp replaces Akina. Applewhite is brought in to assist Davis. And, if it happens, we get Darrell Scott?
This is HUGE. I'll have a post on this at some point after signing day. Don't wanna jinx anything.
Calm down guys
It's great news if it's true, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. It is not set in stone that this guy is going to step on campus and become a stud. He might end being the next Peterson or Benson, but he could, also, be a bust. I am excited as hell, but I am also being cautius and reasonable. He looks like that he has all the tools to be a stud but there are hundreds of big time recruits that don't live up to the hype.
I hope as hell that he dominates and becomes a beast but it's not guaranteed.
Remember when Jimmy Clausen came to Notre Dame and looked like a freshman. There is a good chance that this guy might play like a freshman and struggle.
For me, the best offseason news would have been for J. Finley to come back and Charles to come back.

What's wrong with Clausen?
I thought ESPN told me he had been preemptively inducted into the Hall of Fame? Isn't he ascending into heaven as we speak?
RE: Clausen
"Remember when Jimmy Clausen came to Notre Dame and looked like a freshman. There is a good chance that this guy might play like a freshman and struggle."
Quarterback and a running back. Absolutely no comparison. Running back is the position with the least adjustment to the college game, while quarterback is the position with the most adjustment. It is very rare that elite prep running backs struggle with anything other than pass-blocking or blitz recognition upon entering college.
And if Scott does follow through and pick the good guys on Wednesday, then it will have been a very, very good thing that Charles left early.
3 years of Scott > 1 year of Charles. And it's not even close.

Is That Stupid?
The kid obviously wanted to make a splash on signing day. Why couldn't the coaching staff just make the play to let that happen rather than start a leak?
I can't find
any quality CU foobaw blogs. The SB Nation one seems kaput. Do any of you connected guys follow a blog other than the messageboardesque one in mvp's post above?
Fun with homonyms.
Darrell commited to the whorns.
Clever.
Just throwing it out there: Is it too early to claim dibs on the adopt-a-Horn?
now now..
let's all play fair.

Nah, it's never too early
[witty signature involving diving endzone catches by purple jaguars here]
Re: Jaguar Alum
I'm excited, too, about a fellow Jaguar bringing down Colt's passes soon.
How about something along the lines of "purple reign" in the signature line? :p

usually...
my girlfriend is the one with her face in the pillow while I'm screaming wooooo!
That's right.
Because...
... you just went nuts over some random football dude that wants to go to your school when she was trying to get you to have sex with her?
Again?
Geez, man, I just don't get girls...
Just some Buff thoughts..
One thing that we can all agree on is that he is enjoying every minute of this process. Currently, he can't even decide on what televised cast he will announce on (ESPNU, Fox?). This is the real life Smash Williams I guess.
That said - I would have to give UT right now the one up for obvious reasons. DS did give an oral to CU in November and called a number of recruits to come to CU to block for him or whatever for him. Then JC said he was going pro, and now he has allegedly changed his mind - but I don't know if you can trust blogs that many folks in Colorado don't read who claim to get 1 am booty calls from UT regents. Also, UT has many other advantages just because of who you are... CU has bubble and our athletic department actually finished in the black this year.. woo hoo.. But of course CU has family (Josh Smith has been very silent the last few weeks)
Peter is right though, I think because this kid is enjoying the limelight I would not pop a cork until the name is on the dotted line. Who knows, this kid may even go so far as to fuel the speculation and even throw up the hook'em horns sign at the Army All-Star game and pull out a CU hat on TV for the drama.
Just one random thing of Buff speculation that gives us some hope is that our current two TB's Lockridge and Summler where not overly impressive. CU had been recruiting PT Gates (number 1 JuCo recruit) from saddleback but he is too dumb qualify for CU.. I think K-State is even out of his league he must be boarder line retarded. CU coaching has given up and cut him off. You would think that we would still be on him to get his grades up to be here for the fall if we were only going to have 3 scholarship (4-star Ray Polk) TB's on the team. Just a thought..

So if he has not decided on ESPNu/Fox
Is he going to have a press conference on all the local stations on Tues. to announce which network he will declare on fro Wed.?
Is he going to have a ESPNU hat and a Fox hat?
Will he do the whole hat switch thing for these networks?
I need to know.
Attention?
Maybe I'm just not connected enough, but what has Scott done that makes everyone think that he's eating up the attention and just wanting to create drama? From everything I've read he won't talk to anyone about anything. Seems to me if he was in it for the attention he'd be doing every interview he possibly could. Who knows. Just wondering if y'all know something I don't.
