2008's (Very) Early Top 25
Mark Schlabach posted an article on ESPN.com analyzing his so called projection of next year's college football season. Honestly, i felt that he hit it(no innuendo)pretty accurately being that UT was ranked #7...take a looksee:
#7 behind some teams that are returning enough talent to be pretty dang good next season doesnt upset me at the least bit. Nationally, we're in the top 10 in the polls, we're projected in articles like this at #7, yet we are on the verge of signing the top running back prospect in the country and somebody on the roster is bound to step up and take the responsibility of taking UT back to the top on their own shoulders. Im saving my money to buy a National Championship jacket, next time we win it and im highly confident that'll be soon.
Throw ya Horns.

I dunno about Texas's blurb
Our defense is worse by losing our starting LB's from last year? What?

disagree
i believe our LB group will be one of our strengths on the d-side of the ball next season.....
Muck-Norton-Kindle should have been the main guys this past season anyways
unless one of our incoming freshman step up, where we'll be hurtin is in the secondary....losin kelson and griffin at the same time is brutal...not to mention mr. foster.....hopefully the brown's and Oduegwu show up in '08....and watch out for incoming DJ Monroe at corner.

Meant to say
That I disagreed with the article as well, and that our LB corp will improve through graduation.

Defense could be worse...
But the LB's wont be the problem...the LB's will be the most improved part of our defense...where we'll struggle is at the safety position, keep in mind that the LB's that will get all the playing time next year were our biggest defensive producers this year with their limited time.

too early to care, but glad we're not ranked high
Season just ended, and our changes to our coaching staff and 2008 commitment list are probably not done yet. While I don't think that this team should be ranked worse than 12 or 13, what happens in the spring and preseason is what I care about the most - and ultimately that is what will drive our position in the polls for next year.
The last thing you want is for the team to be overrated in the offseason. They need to stay hungry. Bringing in a new coach on defense will breed competition, and a low ranking gives the team something to prove (like they aren't the 4th best team in the big 12). If we continue to have a good offseason and build momentum, we can easily be in the BCS picture.
I predict that only a very good Texas team keeps the 10 win streak alive in 2008.

Yeah, no I think you were right.
he's basically operating under about 6 or 7 screen names right now, hoping 1 will slip through the cracks. it's innovative, i'll give him that. however, i can't help but think his time might be better spent, i don't know, hanging out with actual human beings outside of his parents' house... perhaps even female human beings. though i will admit, having seen a picture of dhab, that might be asking too much.
