Watching the Game in Austin
I wanted to start a thread regarding the best places to watch the Horns beat hell outta ou this Saturday for those of us who unfortunately won't be making the trip up I-35. Standards such as Scholz's and the Tavern are well known, but what other favorites does everyone have here in Austin (especially up north)? Obviously, good TV displays and alcohol are required. To name a couple, I don't expect the Hideout to be too busy...they have a large projection screen with flat screens on the walls. Fowler's has great wings and tons of flat screens, but isn't very comfortable and will have plenty of families and kids in for lunch. Please continue by sharing your thoughts and recommendations on other hotspots. Hook Em!!!!

Crown and Posse?
For UT students, there’s aren’t better places than Crown and Anchor and the Posse East. Crown has a fantastic beer selection (comparable to, but slight smaller than the Tavern) but Posse has the edge for sports. Posse has probably around 15 tvs, a great happy hour, and TONS of sports fans watching the game.

definitely
My last year in Austin I lived across the street from Crown, I took those cheap Shiner pitchers for granted… here in DC they do actually have Shiner at the Alumni Bar, but is is $14 for a pitcher!
The Drafthouse?
They show the games there for free. I watched a game there once and it was awesome. They had beer specials too. Can’t beat watching the game on a screen that size.
Also, I just tried a place over in West Campus. It has to be relatively new. It’s where Bongo’s used to be. Anybody know it? They had great food and a nice setup (tons of HD tv’s).
Quattro's
Quattro’s is super preppy and annoying.
That’s just my opinion though.
Oh, also, expensive.

Ugh
Guhgree….Quattro’s es no muy bueno.
Personally, I think the Hidout is a perfect spot. I’m also a fan of Woodrow’s on Parmer. Riata Bar & Grill might not be a bad place to catch a game either.
Muschamp seems like the kind of guy who used to beat up guys like Bob Stoops in high school.
Quatros
Went there a few weeks ago, late at night, and it didn’t seem that bad. I guess I could see the Cain & Abel’s frat crowd there. That night, though, it wasn’t half bad.
Billy's on Burnet
They have fantastic food, a great beer selection, good staff, and a decent-sized TV indoors (plus several smaller ones). The only drawback is that outside on the patio they only have one TV.
Billy's gets my vote
while they don’t have a really big big screen. you really can’t beat their food (burgers!) and the cool atmosphere
