Some duche is flaming the OU sports nation site.
I went over and left some positive comments id anyone else wants to that may help our SB nation friends avoid a dick.
Long live the BON nation!
Effn Leach!
Goes for it on 4th and 5 and get’s a deep pass to Crabtree. Tech on the move (tied at 24 with 4 minutes left).
WOW
Amazing play for tech. 24-24 4:30 lefttech has 4th and 4 on own 35 and they keep offense on field. Harrell gives a hard count and a Nebraska player jumps. THe center snaps it trying to catch him offsides, but he gets back on. Doesn’t matter. Harrell still finds Crabtree for like 40 yards.
NU TOP 38+, Tech <20
NU may lose this but the idea of keeping the time controlled and Tech off the field works in general. That’s what Texas did today.
Plus, NU leads in total yardage, both under 400.
TD Nebraska. If kick is good, this is going to OT. Maybe.
Tech will have less than 30 seconds. Tech could get no pressure on GAnz.
Damn, Tech scored but Tech blocked point.
This can get strange real fast.
OT
tech scores easily…then misses xp (the previous one to take lead went off goalpost). Nebraksa has a chance to win.
Tech
Tech has not been too impressive this year. Unfortunately, we have to play them in Lubbock where they always play great versus Texas.
Leach
He just quoted Sharon Stone in post-game interview.
Play of the day?
James Madison’s Scottie McGhee 69 yrd punt return with :15 left in game to break 31-31 tie and keep their #1 ranking. Whew. I love college football.
I’m a lot less worried about Tech than I am Mizzou right now, and it’s not just because Mizzou is next Saturday’s opponent. Colt should have a huge day, but when UT’s on defense, it’ll be strength (UM’s pass offense) against weakness (UT’s pass defense), and weakness (UM’s rush offense) against strength (UT’s rush defense). Normally I’d like UT’s chances there, because the pass rush can put a lot of pressure up, but Mizzou’s OL has been playing really well, and Daniel has scalpel-like precision that can be dangerous when there are spot weaknesses like UT’s safeties.
That’s the bad news. The good news is that the Longhorns will be in complete control of its own destiny if they beat Missouri next weekend. Beat Mizzou, and it mostly gets easier from there.

Hogs are trying to sneak up on Auburn. That’d be sweet. Auburn needs to fire their current stiff DC and hire the guy who’ll replace Muschamp when he sniff takes a head coaching job at another school.
Speaking of which, anyone have any guesses where Muschamp will go? I really hope he’ll be in Austin for at least two more seasons, but I could see him considering Tennessee, Virginia, or Clemson. I’ll bet Washington would like to have him, but I just doubt he’d be happy with a Great Northwest job.

I saw the stats and was impressed, but I had no idea how good their defensive line is.
Robinson has been so cool so far….
Was that really an audible?
How could you give a punter the freedom to do that? Possibly the dumbest play I’ve seen this year… and the reverse they called was pretty bad too….
OSU was going to punt, their punter "audibled" to a fake and he had no chance
He called his own number, ran a sweep to the right and was never close to the first… And now the momentum has been lost.
MO definitely has the mo now,
but I really wasn’t expecting it to be this close. Gators are kicking some coon-ass!
OSU having exactly the drive they needed...
Two first downs and the clock is ticking away. Going in 10-7 is a victory for OSU.
#25
Whats with chase daniels not wearing his usual #10?

Teamate who passed away.
One his teamates died during a summer workout their freshman year. All current seniors (same class as the passed) are rotating the number this year to honor him.
A good story tonight.
My basketball watching buddy called tonight. Drunk and delirious. Seems he went to a gathering where he was the only Texas fan – the rest were all OU fans, every single one, some alums, some local idiots. He said at halftime he was confident and had an Okie bet him $100 – and gave him a point. They were a stunned and angry lot after the game but the guy paid off on the 100 bucks.
Then they played poker, Texas roll ‘em, and he won another $100. Not before he had to face down a young land thief, who took exception after he stupidly went all in with a pair. My buddy told him, "I may be 60, but I’m 6-4 and you’re 5-8 and probably don’t need a second ass whipping today." Heh.

Bolder than me
I spent a couple of days on campus in Norman last week, but I wore a cup the entire time.
Loving Ivan Maisels article on the Texas game
DALLAS — Thank goodness we live in an age of DVRs and instant classics, endless replays and countless highlight shows. Only 92,182 people at the refurbished Cotton Bowl and a national television audience got to see one of the best college football games of this or any season.
If you went to see your team play Saturday, if you didn’t have the good fortune of wearing burnt orange or crimson in Fair Park on a sunlit fall Saturday, if you made the mistake of watching some other game, get thee to YouTube. Buy, cheat or steal your way to a copy and watch No. 5 Texas beat No. 1 Oklahoma 45-35.
Enjoyed the article.
Maisel has good emotional depth to his story.
dude...
How did OSU @ Mizzou become a defensive struggle? C’mon score some points!
Daniel and #25
Missouri has been giving one offensive player a game #25 in honor of a fallen teammate. Can’t remember or pull up his name, but that’s why Daniel looks like Doug Flutie tonight.
Congrats Horns on the big win today. It was fun to watch.
If only Nebraska could’ve followed suit.

Yes
I was pretty surprised Pelini didn’t go for two. He’s seemed thus far like a guy to roll the dice.
With the momentum they had, on the road, you go for it.

I just hope stays under the radar. Makes them play better when they have to prove how good they are.

Not with ESPN leading with the game every time they're on
as well as the down markets. But I do think there will be question marks and a lot of conjecture about Alabama and Florida as well as the winner of the OSU/Mizzou game.
I wished I had watched the earlier portion of the game, came in at half time.
I concur with what the1Austin is saying below, that Gundy has a hell of a game plan. And he has had those against us. When his team executes it, they’re killer. When they don’t, not so good. Gundy is a dangerous adversary and if he gets the right stew of coaches and players, watch out. Powerful things can blow themselves up, too.
Oh yeah.
going into the game with OU I was more worried about the game with OSU more. I think they are closer to our intensity level. I just hope we have a better game plan for them then we had last year.

Wow,
Missouri and LSU down. That’d be… interesting
Right now the real question is "Who's Number 1?"
If MU loses, UT is up to # 2 at least. Will Alabama move up without playing? It’s going to be a very close vote.
I think MU might suffer a bit regardless.
What’s funny is that if this same game was between Auburn and Tennessee it would be considered hard nosed, strong defensive brilliance. In the Big 12, this is just an ugly game.
Texas may not be one but they will have a lot of #1 votes.
From the coaching point of view, if a team can out-Oklahoma Oklahoma, you dont’ wanna to play that team.
Still can't believe Colt had 80% completion against OU.
I figured his completion % would go down in the Big 12. I think it has actually gone up.
really makes colt *and* bradford look good
they were both cool under pressure

Maybe wait two more weeks
Who does OK St plat next week>?
Wow, LSU just got intercepted for a TD too
they’re getting mauled 14-41 in going into the 4th O_o
never underestimate OSU's ability to choke
their 2nd-quarter losses to Vince were epic
Gotta hand it to Gundy
Coached a great game. Huge win for OSU.
The Big XII South is the best division in football.

But like TT...
tried to do too much. Kinda a buzz kill for next weeks hype. Now I have to listen to OKC radio about OSU.
Guess I have to give my cousin some hell (MO grad).
LSU needs to learn to lose gracefully
Don’t go for it on 4th and 13 when you’re down 44-21 with 5 minutes in the 4th. You’re just going to make it worse.
See? 51-21 before XP
LSU is running up the score on themselves

Big One-Loss Winners
As big as the wins were by Texas, Florida, and Oklahoma State today, there are two teams that really benefitted from OU, LSU, and Missori all going down—Ohio State and USC. Remember them?
The SEC looks like it may not even be able to produce a single one loss team at this rate. The Big XII is just brutal. Whoever emerges from the South will still have to face Missouri/Kansas again.
Meanwhile, Penn State must go to Columbus and USC probably won’t face a ranked team the rest of the way. Add in the lack of conference championship games and 11-1 are definitely within reach for both teams.
BOOOOOOOOO!!!!
--AW--
That does suck. USC sucks. shouldn't even be considered in the top 10.
I like Penn State though. It should be a SEC vs. BIG 12 in the championship game.

From a Texas standpoint, it would have been better if okie state had lost./nt

Always figured
there was a good chance a once-beaten team would play an unbeaten team when Texas hosted Mizzou . . .
just cause
OU lost doesn’t mean they aren’t as good as every body says they are. They are better than Alabama, Missouri, LSU, Florida, Penn St. et al. The Horns are just better than OU. Today watching LSU vs Florida, NU vs Tex.Tech, Penn St. vs Wisconsin and OK st. beat Missouri, OU is a notch above these teams and Horns beat them.
Penn St. beat Wisconsin 48-7 so what the Horns hung 45 on OU but some are saying maybe Penn St. should be considered #1. Of all the teams that played today the only competition with UT and OU is Florida (and they lost to 3-3 Mississippi).
All we need to worry about is that the Horns that played today is the same team that shows up for the rest of the games then there is a good chance to win a conference championship and top BCS bowl game.
You are correct
OU is a really fucking good team – we just had the Will to beat them today. I say the Big XII is heads and tails above everyone this season. Longhorns greatest challenge will be in conference, not whoever they face in BCS game.
May VY be with you.
i'm super dissappointed Mizzou lost.
but I dont think it matters as long as OSU keeps winning.
A part of me did want Mizzou to win
If it turned out they become the #1 ranked team, and we beat them next week, there would’ve been a “bad ass” factor that would remain with our team till the end of the year. Even if we had lost a game in the future, the human pollsters would still like us.
Either way, our schedule is still daunting, and we will definitely get to the MNC if we run the table, unlike someone like Penn State.

no, not all of America -- just Mobilehoma...
“I spent $360, and I can’t see squat,” said University of Oklahoma fan Paula Wilson. “It’s too tight to sit down,” she said. “Come on, this is America. We aren’t little people. We are fat.”
This is as sweet as any Texas win since ’63. We moved to OKC, and I took stuff all week, being the only Orangeblood in my crimson and cream fifth grade class. We won, went on to win the National Championship. Harbinger of things to come?
I second that...
The people here in OK do seem larger (or skinnier…meth I guess). Just go to the OK state fair. Talk about scary.
