TX outcoached OU

Wow....

Let me say that again:

1. We outcoached OU - one of the best in the nation

2. This feels better than UT - USC

3. GD had a great game....

4. We are #1

5. We outcoached OU - did I say that already?

Man, I hope we don't look ahead. Bring on Chase. I do feel very scared of the #1 ranking, but hopefully our team does not look ahead and takes down the next 3 games.. well all the remaining games...

HOOK EM!!!!

Does feel good

This does feel good because, unlike in 2005 and 2006, we were not supposed to win. This is the first time in WAY to long we won against Blow U in a fashion that they did did to us for some many years, by outoaching us. I felt much more emotionally spent after this game than in 2005 because it was expected of us to win.

I think Mack will have our eye on the prize by going one game at a time and getting ready for Mizzou, Ok Lite, and Tech. Out of those three, Okie Lite still worries me the most, since they set up a game plan to beat Mizzou, and we know how to beat Tech, we do it every year.

Feels Great

I don’t want to downplay it. But, better than USC/TX? That’s a bit of a stretch. The build up, last second heroics, and national title that went went it keeps that one head and shoulders above the rest.

True...

maybe I am too emotional.

The thing is that this win feels more satisfying than that one.. we did it with lesser talent and with better overall coaching – Musch + GD did great.

Yeah, I was shocked by this one ...

Better than a national championship? Against ESPN’s declared best team of all time?

Naw. I want to beat OU as much – or more – as anyone. But this was nothing like VY taking down the Trojans.

Watch out, I bite.

Greg Davis

I am not in the camp of those that like Greg Davis, but I’ll be the first to say he coached a pretty darn good game. Starting the second half continuing to try and run the ball I was cursing Davis because it was not working. Or should I say trying to run the ball east/west – we never made any attempts at north/south.

I would not give Davis a perfect 10 but he/offense did enough to warrant a job well done.

I agree wholeheartedly

I have NEVER been a GD fan. And I am still annoyed by the horizontal game.

But I’ve got to give him props – this was a well-coached offensive game. I’m not going to give him an A+ … still were some areas of frustration. But for the most part, a solid A.

Let’s see some repeats, Greg!

Watch out, I bite.

If this season ends like 2005...

I think it could be more special because there is not Vince Young on the roster. However, there is too much football left to go down that bunny trail. I don’t want to sound like the cats PB linked to at Rock M. We got a tough stretch ahead. Win them all, we are in a great position, loose one and it is all in the potty.

Probably too soon to have this conversation

But there is not likely to be more than one or maybe two undefeateds (ignoring BYU/Utah). Only one can possibly come out of the Big XII (and if one does, they certainly will have a punched ticket to the national championship game). Penn State has a shot in the Big 11 (and probably the best shot in the country), but will have a big game against tOSU in Columbus on Oct 25th. Alabama could potentially do it (and would also have a punched ticket to the big game), but that would mean winning in Baton Rouge and in the Conf. Championship game against probably Florida (or maybe Georgia or Vandy).

The point being, there more than likely will be at least one one-loss team in the BCS Championship Game. I wouldn’t count out OU or Mizzou at this point and certainly wouldn’t assume that all of these upcoming games are MUST wins for UT. Obviously, win ‘em all and you’re in, but I wouldn’t say it all goes up in smoke if you don’t.
