UT-UNC Basketball Series in the Works

Bumped from the Fan Posts.

Per the Statesman, UT and UNC are trying to schedule a 4-game basketball series beginning next year (Dec 19, to be specific). That game will (they hope) be played in Dallas at Jerryworld, followed by a 2010 date in Greensboro, NC, and then a game at each school's campus.

In related news, my man-crush on Rick Barnes continues to grow.

This is also a good time to note single-game tickets for Texas basketball games for 2008-09 are now on sale through the Texas Box Office.

I work at UNC so this is great news to me. I hope it comes through. Tar Heels don’t care for UT very much (the whole Mack Brown thing…they’re still bitter) and they thoroughly despise Rick Barnes. I’m not sure of the details, but I think when Barnes coached for Clemson (?) there was some dust-up between him and Dean Smith so they still hold a grudge.

Just as when the Horns came here in 2001, it’ll be good to see our guys smack the Tar Heels around.

FYI I obviously pull for UNC unless UT is involved.

I think Dean said the Clemson players were too physical

Barnes had his players bang with Carolina to dull any talent edge they had.

Smith took objection, said it wasn’t basketball, etc, etc. UNC people who worship Dean of course never question anything he says.

It is kinda like when y’all claimed A&M played “thug ball” under BCG.

Jerryworld is not so unlike DKR...

To wit:

- Tony Romo thanks God every postgame interview as well (because he gets to go home to Jessica’s cans, but to each his own)
- Pacman Jones thinks bitches need to be kicked too
- Roy Williams will face rape you every chance he gets
- Terrence Newman screams like a cheerleader
- Like the Rak, Demarcus Ware is super-awesome (ok, this one isn’t really funny, I just love watching Ware play)
