Does OU have an advantage if they win out?
I was, on first blush, pleasantly surprised that OU only dropped a couple of spots after the loss last week; to me, this in combination with the Horns going to #1, showed an incredible amount of respect among the commentariat for what was an absolutely wonderful game and a great win.
However, most people seem to agree that the odds of Texas winning out against this schedule are quite slim. Whether they lose tonight or down the road, a loss would probably drop them below the land thieves in the rankings, and, if OU wins out, it is possible that they end up in the MNC even though we beat them. Mizzou got similarly screwed last year - Kansas, whom they beat convincingly, went to a BCS bowl (I forget which) while the Tigers went to the Cotton Bowl, because of the Big 12 championship game.
Don't get me wrong, I think we have a legitimate shot at winning out, but does this scenario concern anyone other than me?
In my opinion, under the assumption that Texas will lose one game this season, probably it would be best to lose to Mizzou tonight (the earlier the loss the better, in BCS-world) end then beat them in the Big 12 championship game.

If we lose 1
We would still play in the big 12 championship
Winning that would give us the advantage for sure!

As long as...
The one we lose isn’t the Big XII Champtionship, then we’re probably still in the MNC with only one loss.
Unless it’s to A&M.
If we lose 1
If we lose to Tech and they win out, then they will go to the Big12 Championship. Goodbye MNC
