Hold Much?
Is it just me or do they not call holding any more?
We can agree the officiating the past two weeks has been suspect. Missed calls (Oklahoma's illegal man downfield twice in one series), bad calls (Oklahoma's "late hit" when Colt slipped running out of bounds), and unbelievable calls (Missouri's TD of 4th and 7 when the receiver was clearly out of bounds) have been the only real negative so far in the season.
That being said, I still can't get over the lack of holding calls on our opponents. Loadholt and Missouri's LT (Elvis Fisher for anyone who cares) just tackled Orakpo any time he got by and neither were called for holding the entire game. I nearly had an aneurysm on Missouri's long pass play before halftime when Orakpo was tackled from behind while chasing Daniel.
My kingdom for a competent umpire!

Mizzou got that touchdown taken away
So it was 28-0 instead of 28-7

still...
the amount of national attention the red river game got will outweigh the remaining games of the season…the holding in that game was very blatant, and there was only 1 flag for it. With that being the case, I wouldn’t expect much different from here on out.

first off,
holding is not what it used to be. We’re aware of this, but holding is OK when the hands are in a certain position, something about the elbows and shoulders and alignment. I can’t quote the rule. Some of what’s not being called LOOKS like holding but is marginally acceptable.
Some is blatantly bad officiating. The takedowns. The reaching back or way out to the side. In defense of the officials, coaches committees come up with the rules and officials work within those rules (guidelines). Some officials, obviously, need big dogs to help them find the cars.

postgame ...
I caught a postgame (field) interview with McCoy – after the interview he started looking for Rak, as he was heading over to the band to sing The Eyes of Texas. Called him ‘Sackpo’. Love it.

Yes, yes, yes, yes
And yes.
On all but two Mizzou scoring drives, I was screaming at the refs to call holding on the WWE takedowns I was seeing on TV from 750 miles away!!!
