Honestly, that this comes from Joe Posnanski, one of the best MSM journalists in the country (KC Star), makes it an endorsement I'm especially pleased to see. Awesome.

Hat Tip: TexasTexasYeehaw. Great find.

Nice column...

While it might be a bit of hyperbole to say Mack’s the best, he definitely deserves to be in the conversation when discussing the top college coaches in the country. The column did a great job of putting Mack’s accomplishments in context of Texas football history. As a student from 1979 – 1986, and alumnus since, I remember the losing seasons of Texas football, the lack of bowl games, giving up 66 to UCLA at home, etc. That is why Mack’s years have been so special to me – that he has returned Texas football back to the status where it belongs and was under DKR. That’s also why I have not been on the criticize Mack bandwagon that a lot of folks on this site and others have been on.

Posnanski is very good

Thank God we have him in KC, because everything else in this region is pure trash.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
