GameDay to be on hand for Texas-Texas Tech

from mackbrown-texasfootball.com:
ESPN College GameDay is set to cover the Longhorns for the third time in four weeks and the 11th time in its history when No. 1 Texas meets No. 8 Texas Tech in Lubbock on Saturday. GameDay has also been present for the Longhorns' 45-35 win over No. 1 Oklahoma in Dallas on Oct. 11, and the 56-31 win over No. 11 Missouri in Austin on Oct. 18. This will be GameDay's first-ever trip to Lubbock and the second time it has covered a game in the series. The first came in 2005 when No. 2 Texas defeated No. 10 Texas Tech, 52-17, in Austin. It is also the second time it has covered a true road game for the Longhorns. The other was in 2005 for the first-ever matchup between Texas and Ohio State, when the No. 2 Longhorns defeated the No. 4 Buckeyes, 25-22, in Columbus, Ohio. Overall, Texas is 7-3 with the GameDay crew in attendance. It has visited Austin on five occasions, including the Oct. 18 game against Missouri; the 2005 game against the Red Raiders; 2006 when No. 1 Ohio State defeated No. 2 Texas, 24-7; 2003 when No. 13 Texas defeated No. 16 Kansas State, 24-20; and 1999 when No. 18 Texas upset No. 3 Nebraska, also by the score of 24-20. GameDay has been to Dallas three times, including the Oct. 11 game; 2001 when No. 3 Oklahoma defeated No. 5 Texas, 14-3; and 2002 when No. 2 Oklahoma defeated No. 3 Texas, 35-24. GameDay was also in attendance for the 2005 BCS National Championship Game when No. 2 Texas defeated No. 1 USC, 41-38. This year will mark the 15th consecutive season College GameDay will originate from the site of the day's best game (generally announced the Monday before the game). Chris Fowler hosts the popular Saturday morning news and analysis show with analysts Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit.

Signs?

Anybody see McConaughey’s football movie. Just hold up “We Are Texas”

Like they say, “We are the Joneses”

Nothing is better than the unintentional comedy at Texags.

You guys should read the reaction to Gameday going to the South Plains this week to see “Tceh and tu.”

Excellent find

Few things are as comical these days as aggy jealousy of the Sand Aggies’ legitimate contender status.

Here’s some in-depth TexAgs analysis:

Do you think tu, OU, and tceh are over-rated?

Answer:

tech is overrated. ou and tu are not.

Another comment from TexAgs...

…We are one of the few teams in the Big 12 with a good defense. TU, Tech and OU have sorry defenses and are overrated.

Wow. They obviously have not been keeping up with their own season.

It has become impossible to take any Aggie comments seriously in the last four seasons. They get a few fluky wins against Texas and assume that the other 11 games in their seasons were the abberation. In general, they are absolutley convinced (brainwashed?) that they are thisclose to being a national title contender. Every year.

You can’t discuss anything intelligently with them. Yes, they support their team quite well. But they take the 9th grade attitude that everyone else sucks, is lucky, is academcially weak, is elitist, doesn’t contribute to the success of our economy or military, or is gay. I don’t like Texas because they are always freaking really good and wipe the turf with us more often than not. I hate the Aggies because they are just absurd and can’t recognize anyone else’s success.

you mean

like this?

Say what you want about me, but I think Colt McCoy is worthless. I’m not just saying that because I hate texas either. Yeah he’s played against top teams and he has amazing stats and whatever else, but to me stats don’t mean sh*t. It all comes down to who has the better receivers, linemen, etc. From what I’ve seen, his recievers save colt’s a$$ more times than not. Maybe it’s just that I can’t stand how much of a puss or pretty boy he is or how the media thinks he walks on water, but I don’t think he is in the top 10 in qb’s, nor do I think he should be a heisman candidate, but what do I know?

At least his fellow aggy gets the answer to his query correct:

Almost nothing, it seems

Wow…that pretty much sums it up right there, eh?
I love the Colt McCoy isn’t tough comment. I would put him up there with Kliff Kingsbury’s toughness. But with a good line in front of him. I remember Kingsbury just getting pummeled when Leach first got to LBK. But he got up every time.

McCoy is a tough, tough kid. Does his girlfriend still go to Tech? Or did he settle on one of the 22,353 turbo-hotties in Austin?

When he was a freshman his girlfriend went to Tech. Not sure if they are still together or if she transferred to UT…

gameday...

gameday back in austin for the TAMU game?

would this mean 4 espn gamedays for UT? whats the most a team has been on gameday in one season? its gotta be USC or OSU with the most visits in one season

by afhook08 on Oct 27, 2008 9:10 AM CDT reply actions

I don't think they show up on Thursday's...

Herbie could be calling the game but the rest will be somewhere on Saturday. Now Kansas City could be a different story…but that is counting the chickens before they hatch. There is only one important game right now and it is in Lubbock.

Yes.

It is definitely coming to Austin for A&M. They talked about it on Texas Football Sportscenter on mb-tf.com
