Premature Hypothetical question

I know that there is still plenty of football remaining, but hypothetically who would you prefer to play in the MNC?  An undefeated Penn St. from a mediocre at best Big Ten,  an undefeated Alabama, or a one loss SEC champion Florida / Georgia?  I think the best matchup for us would be Penn St.  I did not see anything during the game saturday night that would lead me to believe that they could make a close game of it.  Georgia / Florida would be interesting because they seem to have the athletes that could make it interesting on both sides of the ball.  I have a hard time seeing Alabama making it through the SEC, but I haven't watched them enough to know how we would match up.

Easy answer

Anybody NOT in the SEC.

Boise State would be my preference.

In a real world, USC. At 11-1 they won’t deserve to be in the top 2, but they’re a fair guess to be there if Penn State and Alabama can’t stay unbeaten.

If we win it...

Then hands down an SEC team. They’re goddamn obnoxious. But the risk is if we lose it, we have to hear about SEC dominance for another year… I’d feel comfortable enough against Bama and Georgia, but Florida is something else entirely.

IF we win out...

Caveat: This is a better question for saturday night, however-

Assuming that happens…. It’s safe to assume the PSU will win their remaining three games. So the only question really is whether Bama will tough it out for the next five games. If so, we play Bama, if not, we play PSU.

I’m interested to see whether Tek brings their Nebraska game or their KU game. Once we see what happens there, I’ll be comfortable talking about the last three/four games of the regular season.

Tech is going to bring their Texas game

and we have to be ready for it. This IS the MNC as things stand right now.

Word

For us, this is really pretty close to the MNC play-in game. Tech has a longer road, but that’s their problem. The D line needs to be fighting bears this week in preparation.

Damn - I'll Bite

I hate talking about the MNC before a Big XII championship is clinched – but have to agree with you 100%. Penn State is the matchup we want – and they will be in the MNC game after the OSU win. Problem is that no way both Horns and Bama go undefeated.

Florida vs. Georgia winner is the team we don’t want, followed by the Trojans. I don’t care about proving anything about the MNC – I want the easiest damn game possible and that is JoPa.

But What If.......

Let’s say OU wins out? Is there a chance for a MNC game there or are we (Big XII) hated that much?
