Haha!
In that link, check out Lou Holtz. He’s affiliated not with ESPN, not “Former Notre Dame Coach”, but “Lou Holtz, Inc.” Hilarious.

None of the non-Big XII quarterbacks would start for any of the Big XII’s top four teams.

Umm.. are you kidding me?
I would think Tebow, Sanchez, & Stafford have the talent to start alongside any of the Big XII’s top four teams.

CBS Sports analyst picks Stafford over McCoy
“I’ll take Stafford. He’s a 235 pound player; more of a pro….If Stafford played in one of those junk offenses, he’d be putting up numbers just like McCoy. I think he’s more the pro body type, he’s more Matt Ryan. I think he’s just a brilliant football player, I really do. He’s gonna be an NFL franchise quarterback.”
I’m not saying that Colt is going to be a successful pro player, but just because Stafford has the body of a pro doesn’t mean he’s going to be a good QB in the NFL. He’s still making bad decisions and silly mistakes. And he’s not particularly mobile.
Compare Stafford’s prospects favorably with Harrell’s or Daniel’s, fine. Compare David Johnson’s prospects favorably with Colt’s, ok. But saying Colt isn’t going to be a good pro because he plays in a “junk offense” requires buying into the flawed “SEC v. Big XII” argument most famously espoused by Mark Schlabach. Colt’s not playing for Mike Leach after all.

pro prospect?
I thought this award was for the nations top collegiate quarterback? What a douchebag, to use the pro argument for a collegiate award.

I'm not defending his comments
but, Danielson stated this during an interview on Foxsports Radio. It had nothing to do with any college award, the question was in regards to the NFL.
Below is from Barry Horn’s “college” blog on dallasnews.com.

Gary Danielson, who works the analyst beat for CBS Sports’ coverage of the SEC, was a guest on FoxSports Radio Network on Monday. Host Andrew Siciliano asked the former NFL QB if he would take Texas’ Colt McCoy or Highland Park’s Matt Stafford if he was drafting for an NFL team.
Answered Danielson: “I’ll take Stafford.
Texas? Junk offense? Spread, maybe. But junk?
Who knew?
