Ok...This makes sense about Fozzy...
Alright...This is an excerpt from the Star-Telegram...
This is GD talking...
Whittaker’s role
Texas offensive coordinator Greg Davis said he hopes to lean more on freshman tailback Fozzy Whittaker (14 carries, 92 yards) in future games. Although healthy, Whittaker did not play against OSU because Davis said the Cowboys used "an unbelievable amount of blitzes" that required coaches to use other tailbacks more skilled at pass protection. Asked about the state of the ground game, which still has quarterback Colt McCoy as the team’s leading rusher (412 yards, seven TDs), Davis said: "I’m still not pleased with where that is after eight games." Asked if Whittaker might provide a spark against less blitz-happy teams, Davis said: "I hope so."
This leads me to believe we will see Fozzy against Texas Tech, and believe you me...I think we need the dynamics against them. Grant it, Colt...Ship..Quan...and OBY are near unstoppable, but think about if we torch them through the air, and on the ground...
Just my thoughts, but I think this game COULD be Fozzy's coming out party. I would love it...Number 28 needs to be on that field...
Hook em! and Kick the Crap out of Tech!

I dont remember seeing in the UTEP game...
Does anyone know anything about Fozzie’s hands? OBGYN is our third leading receiver, whoever is playing tailback, needs to be able to keep Colt’s completion percentage up!

Fozzy...
Fozzy was very highly toted coming out of Highschool…i can only imagine that Applewhite, and his team have probably made sure all of them have sure hands, and can catch…
This year alone, an actual RB has not put the ball on the ground.or atleast that I can remember …Most of the fumbles were created by well…Colt…and Chiles…
Even stud blocker Oggie missed on a few blitz recognition pickups...
But man, if you’re running that zone-read sweep all the way off-tackle, Fozzy’s your best bet for sneaking through a tight spot instead of CO’s and McGee’s 1 yard and a cloud of dust. Why not give the Foz a chance when you know you want to run?
I agree
We saw flashes of quickness at UTEP…I mean…he’s the one back who has carried minimal times, but had the most yards per carrry…Something has to give…
I was reading that Tech only blitses like 18% of the time, so that means that the foz won’t have to pick up many blitses…Fozzy has the speed to do alot more than vondrell and Oby… I think even Fozzy could be a great check down reciever in the middle of the field…because he showed he was elusive
If I were Tech reading GD's comments...
I sure would be thinking run when he was in. But it might be a little confusing if he’s in on a obvious passing down…so, is this a trap comment?
I was so excited during the game I barely noticed...
…how many times did Cody Johnson touch the ball? He’s a bowling ball and OSU was blitz-happy. Curious to know the stats about how often he was used as a safety gap in the backfield.
Twice
On second and goal, and third and goal as described above, gained a yard each time. Then with half a yard to go, we attempt a pass.

Whoops
Didnt realize which thread I was in. The two plays were the goal line plays that would be our last possession.
