Sigh

I am reminded of our 2005 secondary. So good…

I didn’t fact-check every number there, but according to the sites I’m checking on rush defense, Texas was actually tied for 11th in yds/att last season at 3.0. BYU and WVU were tied for 9th/10th with 2.9.

Ah, I see. That site includes the bowl game, whereas Yahoo lists only the regular season.

Yeah, CFB Stats goes through all 13 games.

So far so good. Still it is a long season and the only stats that really count and W’s and L’s.

Sacks....

…..numbers aren’t all of that.

13 — Sacks by Texas through 4 games in 2007.

16 — Sacks by Texas through 4 games in 2008.

--- All roads to the Big-XII Championship lead through OU/RRS. It's not just another game! We're all about championships here. ---

I dont see your point.

You might have well said

0 – Sacks by Texas through 0 games in 2007

0 – Sacks by Texas through 0 games in 2008

Instead Ill say,

14 – Sacks by Texas through 5 games in 2007

19 – Sacks by Texas through 5 games in 2008

See how they are continually diverging? After 4 games we only had 3 more sacks (123), yet after 5 games we had 5 more sacks (132). You see, when accumulating stats like these, the smaller the number of games, usually the closer the numbers are together. I wouldn’t recommend trying to throw out the outliers though, that puts it even more in hand for the 2008 squad.

I can’t imagine why you would try to shit on a nation leading sacks stat. Its a good thing, it may not last, but while its here, its a good thing.
