Does Mack have Colt on a gag order?
I am kind of curious, since I am stationed in Virginia I am obviously not able to watch any Texas newscast. I was wondering if Mack had Colt on the same gag order that Leach has Harrell on. I know this is really not a big deal, but every time I watch ESPN and they talk about Tech, the analyst always seems to bring Harrell and his no talking to the press this week. This is probably the dumbest question I have had on here, but I really am curious.

My friend played football for Texas a few years ago...
And according to him, Mack doesn’t like players talking to the media in general. He says that’s what coaches are for, to protect the players from the media frenzy. But, he has no problem letting a few players speak for the team when it comes to conferences that are attended and approved by the coaches.
He probably wasn’t ecstatic about Colt talking about his pro career, but he also understands that Colt is more mature than your average college athlete. I think its a testament to Mack’s coaching ability that we’re able to have men of his caliber represent The University of Texas.
You know, I could actually write a whole post talking about what my friend has told me about life as a player under Mack Brown. I know some pretty cool things like what Mack said to Dusty Mangum right before we won the Rose Bowl.

Write that post.
If you’re not betraying anyone’s confidentiality, then I don’t think anyone on here wouldn’t love to read that post.
I agree with HB.
As long as you’re not betraying a trust or stealing thunder from a book deal, it sounds like a great topic.

Yes... Do it..
I thought I had a cool story from this this past month after the UT-OU game. I sat around at my uncle’s house getting wasted and listening to a couple former guys who played in the ‘77 UT-OU game give inside info as we watched the game on DVD.. That was over 30 years ago, and does not even compare to the info you have..No pressure though, don’t lose a friend over it..

I'd have to check with him first.
That’s the only reason I haven’t written it yet. Rest assured I’ll be asking him this soon.

But.
Regarding what Mack said to Dusty Mangum, it was something along the lines of:
“This is what you’ve been waiting for your whole life. But don’t worry about it. Think about what you want for dinner tonight.”

I thought
Mack already told us. Something like: You are the luckiest person in the world. Everyone is watching you make the kick that wins this game. Can’t remember the exact words, but it was along those lines.
Or, are you saying you know what he really said, as opposed to what was quoted on MBTF?
