Vertical Passing Game
Does anyone else have concerns about our lack of a vertical passing attack? I guess i'm curious about whether it's a matter of taking what the defense gives us; lack of arm strength to throw deep and/or across the field (pots, deep outs, comebacks, etc.); lack of talent at receiver to run those routes; or has GD just been playing high %, conservative ball, hoping to open it up when he needs it?

While there’s always room for improvement, I’m not all that worried about the passing game. McCoy has perfected his ESP link to Ship and Cosby. Williams, Buckner, Collins, and Capt. Kirk have been solid.
It’s the running game that keeps me up at night.

Colorado
seemed to be anticipating Colt’s throws more than the previous 4 opponents. Please GD, I pray to you, don’t let OU predict your game.

Lake Travis has a vertical passing game
Garrett Gilbert turned Friday night’s showdown with Hutto into his own personal highlight show, throwing for a season-best six touchdowns as Lake Travis rolled to a 55-20 win. The Cavaliers needed just 14 first-half snaps to race to a 34-6 lead at the break, as Gilbert teamed up with Cade McCrary for three touchdowns. Gilbert finished the night 13-of-15 for 273 yards, and Lake Travis scored on every possession before he left the game after three quarters.
