Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

My Thoughts

It seems to me like Colt is starting to look like 2007 Colt. He has thrown 5 INT's in 3 games. I hope Colt gets it together fast, because the injuries are starting to stack up and Texas can't afford to give away free points. I think he'll be fine, but he has to make better decisions sometimes. The offense has looked a little tired to me the past two games, I hope they wake up soon.

Has anybody heard the status of Ulatowski? T. Hills got hurt against Tech last year, and a&m tore the o-line up the next game. When will Orakpo, and Houston be back? Acho is a big step down from Orakpo when it comes to pass rushing . When is Chykie Brown going to be healthy?

McGee looks like he's running the ball better now than he did at the beginning of the year. I still think Fozzy is the RB of the future by far, and should get the majority of the snaps.

It seems to me that the winner of the Tech/ou game will play in the Big 12 championship game. If Texas wins out, they will play in the Fiesta Bowl if Tech/ou play in the national championship game. The good news is it seems that if Texas wins out, they will get one of the BCS games (I will be pissed if ou passes UT in the polls).

Yes but when did Texas play such a brutal stretch ever? I was one of those guys who in the past has critisized Colt heavily..but we need to focus on many things….specially it is not like balls are thrown to the DB’s. Defenses at times make awesome plays.

Though the point well taken is that our offense has started to look a little slow at the start but towards the second half they are almost perfect. Now if you want to talk about KU I am of the opinion that we need to start fast and put away the game as quickly…since we want to take the crowd out of the game as early..that can always be a factor.

Quick! Off the bandwagon!

Colts last three games:

72.4% completions, 328 yards per game, 8.5 yards per attempt, 10 touchdowns (one was rushing), 4 picks.

Extrapolate that out to a season – 3936 yards, 40 tds, and 16 picks. That would be 14 more total touchdowns, 600 more yards, and 2 less interceptions then 2007, and near the NCAA record for completions, all while playing with a fairly beat up team at the tail end of a brutal stretch. Those are stats anyone should be happy with.

Colts only crime is being unbelievably awesome for a long stretch of time.

Geez its like if hes not perfect hes all the sudden the scapegoat.

Great points, Boddicker

If Gideon doesn’t drop an interception or one of 50 other things, Texas is No. 1 almost unanimously. Colt is a runaway Heisman favorite. Tech and OU are playing to avoid being in the Cotton Bowl.

McCoy is near certain to be on the stage in NY - who EVER would have dared think that a year ago?

No! Colt is great..

I started having flash backs when Texas played OSU, then again against Tech..

I think he’ll be fine, but nothing is wrong with throwing the ball away sometimes!

I agree, if by 'Colt 2007' you mean...

the line did a horrible job of protecting him at times in the Baylor game. Colt’s performance in 2007 was largely based on the fact that the kid was runnin’ for his life on most plays. Your comment about Ulatowski and Hills last year almost sounds like all was well before the Aggie game when that really wasn’t the case. After Baylor Colt is still completing passes at a higher % than Harrell and a consensus Heisman candidate #2 or #3 depending on who you talk to.

I’m much more worried about the guys getting healthy on the D-line and the secondary. You are dead on there. Muschamp will have that unit playing at its best but we can’t be limpin’ into the end of the seasons. Last I heard Rak will be ready in a week or two, don’t know about Chykie.
