2009 Recruiting Class

If you are anything like me I am sure you have basically given up trying to figure out how Texas will end up in the title game.  I've read BillyZane's BCS post so much I close my eyes and all I see is the BCS poll.  At lunch today I mistakenly asked for the Sagarin sandwich.  When I open up an Excel spreadsheet at work I spend the first 5 minutes looking for the S.O.S column.  So to keep everyone fresh, and change the topic of discussion I thought I would share with you ESPN's 2009 team recruiting rankings and the current commit list.  FYI, ESPN is not the only site I visit for recruiting information, this has just been updated and thought it was interesting. Although, I'll admit I like viewing their site just because they don't have those damn "star" rankings.

They currently have Texas at  #3, right behind LSU and USC. Leinart's dad must be still paying players, just kidding sort of.. Obviously, the Texas class is led by Garrett Gilbert. I think you may have heard of him.  Interestingly enough, according to ESPN's site we also have verbals from the two top offensive tackles.  Do yourself a favor and check out the size on those two dudes..HUGE! By the way, if anyone of you have seen Chris Whaley play, could you please confirm he is 6' 3" and actually plays running back, and not shooting guard for the basketball team.  Click here to view the team rankings and below is the commits list.  One more thing, I live in the DFW and have not seen Garrett Gilbert play, so I stole and idea from the classis post "one more year, KD". If South Carolina or Florida St. defeats Florida I will go watch Gilbert play in the state championship.
