Rick Barnes Inks #2 Ranked Class For 2009

Jordan Hamilton, Avery Bradley, and Shawn Williams. Learn the names, Longhorns fans--this trio of talent is only rivaled by the Durant-Augustin-James class of '06. All three sent in their signed letters of intent today.

Videos after the jump.

I'm not sure I can wait a year for Hamilton:

This is ....

……SWEET!! Year after year, Rick Barnes continues to amaze me. He and his staff are fabulous recruiters and the talent level will be at a new all-time high! We’re going to have many great games the next few years.

Now if our students can show up for games!

As long as we are dreaming

Let’s add in Baseball too. The triple crown.

Elliott is doing his best to keep up....

He’s just signed the #1 and #5 volleyball recruits in the nation. Surely that will be enough to get Texas the #1 class for 2009, after being ranked #2 in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Good review of BB recruiting on ESPN

Interesting to see how much Texas talent has ended up scattered across the country. Texas has the 3rd most top-rated recruits for 2009, trailing only Cali and Georgia. Also looks like OSU will be back in the top tier of the conference with Travis Ford taking over the program and hitting the recruiting circuit. I’d much rather have the Cowboys battling the Horns and Jayhawks for the top spot than the Land Thieves.

Bring it on

Frankly, I’d like to see every team in the conference fielding a top team — like the ACC of yesteryear. Since in NCAA basketball, the conference championship doesn’t mean very much, I’m less interested standing above the pack than having a long slate of great games.

Hamilton

Does anyone know the story with Hamilton not playing this year? I just read where he applied for a 5th year of eligibility but was denied. Had not ever heard of a 5th year of eligibility in high school.

hmm

I heart Rick Barnes!

But, rewatch that Hamilton video. Look at a lot of his shots and moves. Lots of cutesy crap and fadeaways and just sloppy stuff that won’t at all fly in the Big 12. Hamilton! Meet Coach Wright and Barnes! They’ve got some work to do with him in my opinion. What a class though for Barnes. Just gets better and better. Cant wait for the title.

that said, wow

Pretty awesome skills. Especially in the last 40 seconds of the video. First bit was what prompted that from me, but anyway, doesnt matter, they’ll coach him up regardless.
