Who beats who?
I am curious what the BCS polls would look like #1-#8 if voters cast their ballots for the best teams based on their feelings of who would win a game on a neutral field right now (and ignoring the records of the teams). Below is what my "Who beats who" poll would like. What would your poll look like?
#1 Florida - they look dominant right now. I don't know if anyone could beat Florida 6 out 10 on a neutral field right now.
#2 OU - I hate em, but I do feel they would beat us 6 times out of 10. Thus I rank em ahead of us.
#3 TX - My #3-#6 are all close, but I feel like TX gets the nod given how much our defense is improving (and I'm a homer). If our offensive execution had not seemingly dipped significanlty recently, I would put us ahead of OU.
#4 Tx Tech - I'm still not fully sold on Tech although their last 2 victories have been impressive. Still, I feel like Tech has always beat everyone on their own turf. If they beat OU, I bump them to #1b with Florida.
#5 USC - Since this is a "Who beats who" poll, I'm (probably stupidly) ranking USC high since they seem to gear up and play well in big match ups against other highly ranked opponents.
#6 Alabama - may seem low, but they've had trouble putting points on the board and have a relatively soft schedule with their "big victories" coming over Georgia who's looking like fools gold and barely beating LSU whose current QB who looks like a highschool JV back up . Maybe they'll prove me wrong and beat Florida.
#7 Ok st - I think they're better that what they played versus Tech
#8 Penn St - Offensive execution has been poor of late (much like our Horns), but the defense is stout. If they played bama, it would be a 0-0 game.

I would have us a strong #2 out of those teams
we beat OU by 10 points on a neutral feild, and when it was crunch time, we took it to them.
We just got done thumping a team they struggled with.
And the games I have seen since we played them, their defense is awful…

they should be
but they get tech at home with revenge on thier minds. (which does not always translate to success, see texas vs K-State 07)

You've got a vastly inflated opinion of Florida
Yes, they’re rolling, but when the opposing QBs are good for 2-3 pick 6’s each game it’s hard to judge them.

I hope the voters watched the game and saw that
S. Carolina is f@#$inkg terrible. They literally handed out 14 points in the beginning. That was ridiculous.

welll...tech did beat texas
play the game 10 times and do you think tech wins at least 5 times? I say not.
1) Texas obviously didn’t bring their A game (tons of dropped passes, OL blocking was terrible although I will give credit to Tech for most of the reason why that was)
2) Blake Gideon dropped a gimme int. Think about if he made that catch what the outcome would be. Betcha he makes that catch 9/10 times.
3) poor time management on Texas’ last offensive series, left way too much time on the clock.
4) miracle by Michael Crabtree + poor tackling angles by Texas DBs = game winning TD.
In the end it still took all of Tech had to beat Texas when Texas clearly was having an off day. But that’s how college football works and Tech gets all the glory. Congratz to them.

That's the spirit.
See, what a good attitude. I totally agree that so long as Texas brings its A game, so long as it doesn’t drop passes, so long as its OL blocks better, so long as its secondary catches interceptions, so long as they manage the clock better at the end of the game, so long as they don’t tackle poorly or take bad pursuit angles, you guys would definitely beat Tech 6 out of 10 times.
And, so long as Ed Britton doesn’t drop a sure touchdown pass, so long as we don’t essentially give you half your offensive yards on two big plays to Malcolm Williams, so long as we don’t give up a special teams touchdown and let one of our FGs get blocked, so long as Crabtree doesn’t get called for an offensive PI, I think Tech might’ve won by 30 points.
There are very few teams that would lose to anyone five or six out of ten times if you simply hypothesize away all the things that make teams lose, right?

Call me crazy
I would put Texas as #1 on that list. We faced a brutal schedule and blinked once for the loss.
Give us ( and especially Muschamp ) time to prepare, and a neutral field… I think we can take 6 of 10 with any team in the country.
