Tech - Round 2
Am I the only BONer that wants a rematch with Tech on a neutral field? This might cause Obama to issue an executive order for a playoff system, but on a neutral site where holding is called and a-holes aren't blowing whistles in the stands,....well you know who wins.

Naah, Tech won fair and square
I guess we will always want a rematch for the games that we lost, but I hate rematches and I think the rest of the country does too. Let them enjoy it, we’ll get them next year. I wouldn’t want to see a Texas – OU rematch this year !
If bowls were decided by fan vote, I’d really like to see Texas vs Florida !

I would be
scared shitless about facing Florida. They are, in my mind, the best team in the country right now considering the few injured (not 100%) players that Texas has. They are definately a rank above Texas in skill, although Texas makes up for it with their strength of determination to win.

Tech won fair and (mostly) square
They killed clock twice in the final UT drive with fake injuried Defensive players, I wish I had saved the tape to show the LB that was looking around and saw a coach motion him to go down (right up there with the acting done by OU’s punter earlier in the year!!!) Call it smart clock mgmt by the Pirate and poor clock mgmt. by UT, who snapped the ball three times with double digit time left on the play clock in that same last drive. Oh and of course the dropped INT by Blake. Dropped TD pass in first quarter by Ship.
Yeah Tech played great, but it took them making almost zero mistakes and us making more than a handful and not really getting rolling until late in the third quarter for them to pull off a miracle comeback win. The way our Defense has matured and is hitting hard and playing confident ala the Kansas game, and giving Muschamp time to cook up a new attack plan I think at a neutral site, [and lets face it Tech didn’t travel worth a darn last year to their Bowl game] which would be dominated by UT fans and well wishers we’d take Tech down. Not easily but decisively.

Why would fake injuries
on defense save clock?
The play clock stops as well and starts again once the guy is off the field. It does allow for you change the defenders who are in the game and catch your breath, but the offense still can run as much time off the clock as it would have with out the injury.

We made many, many big mistakes.
You scored on a punt return where our coverage was horrid. Ed Britton dropped a wide open touchdown pass early on. I don’t know that he interfered, but Michael Crabtree had a big pass interference call in the red zone that made scoring very difficult. He also fumbled. You had 37 and 91 yard touchdown passes that can only happen when severe breakdowns occur in the secondary. The 37 yard touchdown by Malcolm Williams (he averaged 45.5 ypc) was set up by a Jamar Wall pass interference on 3rd and 15. We had a blocked field goal (the next play was Williams’ 91 yard touchdown).
None of which is to say that Texas didn’t create opportunities like playing as though they were, and they are, one of the best teams in the country. But the idea that Tech was flawless and Texas flawed and ergo we won is simply ludicrous. We played great in certain aspects of the game, but horrible in others. Our special teams were atrocious. We gave up two big, big plays defensively that we shouldn’t have to the same guy.

I don't hate rematches
In fact, should ’Bama drop one, I actually think a Big 12 rematch that includes two of Tech, Texas, or OU would be most justified. However, the voters would not let that happen unless ’Bama loses two, Florida loses two, and maybe even Penn State and USC lose two.

I could care less
who we play as long as we get to Miami. No matter what your record is, who your opponent is, etc., the main goal is getting to the title game.

No to the rematch
If I have to hear Musberger call Leach “the mad professor” one more time I think I might end up doing something stupid like switching over to women’s basketball.

rematch
Would be great. A Texas team with a month to rest, heal, and prepare would be more than capable of pulling a NY Giants on them.

Wait, are you calling Tech the 2007 Patriots?
Lets be clear here, going undefeated in college, while notably hard to do, and deserved of praise, is no where near the same challenge as going undefeated in the NFL.
