McFarland Down to final 2

"It's just OU and Texas now," McFarland told Rivals.com reporter Josh McCuistion shortly after his ceremony this morning.

"It's time to get down to making a decision now."

McFarland would be a huge add for us considering the lack of Depth at DT next season. I am under the impression that he could come in and start right away. It would also be really tough see him head to the Sooners.

Not Confident...

I am not confident on landing McFarland, mainly due to the poor fan support at the Baylor game when McFarland visited the 40 acres

he was also at the TX/OU game.

as a guest of oklahoma. that’s got to count for something.

I have personally heard him say

“Hook ’Em Horns” and “F*** OU”
After the TX/OU game. Although he may not remember it.

Saw him at Baylor game

He walked right through the front row (I was in 2nd row) a couple of times. He looked serious and not too into everything but that may be his personality. It wasn’t a great game to showcase the fans but he had to know that going in didn’t he?

He saw the Texas fans at the OU game and had to get pumped up by that. Who knows – it may come down to whether OU makes it into (and wins) the MNC game or not. That would suck.

Looking at Next year

Texas has the better shot at winning it all. I think that will factor into his decision as well.

depth at DT next year

The depth at DT is going to be fine next year, they will still have: Ben Alexander, Jarvis Humphrey, Lamarr Houston, Kheeston Randall, and Michael Wilcoxon.

The 09 recruit Calvin Howell is supposed to be a stud as well.

I agree

Add Derek Johnson another 09 recruit who is a stud out of Arkansas.

Adding McFarland would allow us to move Lamarr Houston back to DE a little easier.

why would we want to move Houston?

He has played well at DT.

Also disagree about the depth being good. Houston is obviously very good and Randall played well against KU IMO but none of the other guys have really shown anything yet. A lot of question marks at the position.

That his natural position

I agree he has played well and would not mind him staying there. But i think he would be great on the outside especially with the loss of Orakpo

No.

There is absolutely no chance of moving Houston outside. One of the reasons of moving Lamarr inside was that the coaches thought he has a better shot at playing inside on Sundays.

Wow

I had no idea about that.

He has been playing great there! Glad he is staying
