3 reasons why we lost in the final 2 minutes (UT vs Tech)
Some of these were very obvious but I cant help but to vent
1. POOR coaching. Mack Browns/Davis decision to not use up the full 40 seconds to snap and snap with a good 20 seconds remaining (for each snap) throughout our last TD possesion was a HORRIBLE mistake. He thought our young D would come through. Did they not realize that tech could score in less than 1 minute?????????
2. Blake Gideon.......enough said...very young and inexperienced, couldnt step up when we needed him to
3. Curtis Brown.....missed a crabtree tackle and flew out of bounds, are you kidding me????? This is where missing Chykie hurt us bad.
Our D in general made some plays, but Tech exposed out poor pass defense. Why is Deon Beasely still playng??? and Henry Melton...my god.....he missed so many tackles....
I love this texas team with all my heart, but theres no denying that some improvements can be made. Remember, National championship caliber teams beat the best teams and are consistently the best team, and we were not the best team on the field that last night.

lost in final 2 minutes
I mean we could’ve won it in those two minutes, but had we put up more points in the first half we wouldn’t have only had a one point lead in the final minutes and you can’t really pin all the responsibility of winning the game in those two minutes.
great job for the defense for keeping us in the game in the second half and the offense to close the gap

at first i was mad at curtis brown, and more at earl thomas. earl thomas was coming over the top and took the worst angle on crabtreee, there was no fucking way he was going to make a tackle.
but even then, if curtis had made the tackle, or thomas had knocked crabtree out of bounds… that’s like a 13 yd FG… they still would have won.

Not so fast my friend
FGs no matter the short distance are not guaranteed gimmes. Since MB has been in Austin, Texas has been at or near the top in blocked punts/kicks and remember, they blocked one earlier in the game.

true true. ok, back to being mad at thomas for taking a bullshit angle on crabtree.
we also had what, 3 timeouts to ice the kicker with? and who had the blocked FG? was it the new kid out of the stands?

Terrible Angle
Earl Thomas totally whiffed on the angle. The safety should always provide back-side support

Most Of All
I agree with number (1). There’s no reason there should have been that much time on the clock when we gave the ball back.
I knew we had to do that as soon as we had our final possession. We all know how fast tech scores.
Brain fart on the coaching staff IMO. They were so worried we wouldn’t score I guess, that they didn’t care how they did it. I was praying for a two and a half minute, clock eating drive on the ground. Instead we blew up early, and paid for it.

Guys…considering what they have done all season long…there is no way the blame game should be on them…our offense did not have ball control…Texas Tech did…for most of the game…the safeties are freshman. compare that
i will not consider Earl and Blake to be bad..I think for what it is worth they played out of their skins to defend a team that has a vertical game…
Now better yet where the fuck was Fozzy and why did not GD bring him…in the final note it aint over till it is over…the November chaos begins…and we are better off having it now rather than at the end of it all..
Losses are always dishearting specially with a team that has a never say die attitude…yes some mistakes were made…but those mistakes proved expensive as it was a crunch situation..now dont ya all worry…the raiders will self destruct…to OSU and OSU will loose to OU…thats all we really care about!!…TT game and OU game then may not matter…In the grand scheme of things Alabama is also going to drop one…and who knows Penn may get their asses kicked my Michigan State……..this is college football..everyweekend is full of surprises my friends…

It would have been worse..
If the kid from the stands kicked the winner. We would never live that down.
