Go Tech! [ From a Longhorn ]
The Poll rankings that just came out show you how no one respects Texas Tech / Leach. We lost to them, they're in 3rd, and we drop below OU, Florida, and USC.... That is obviously wrong.
Tech deserves #1, just like we did after toppling OU. I'm even going to root FOR Tech when it plays OU / OSU. In fact, I hope they win OUT and go to the NC.
If that happens, I doubt we'll see Texas being ranked below OU ( 2 losses if Tech wins out ), Florida, USC, or any other one loss team.
We should go to a good BCS bowl if Tech goes to the NC and I hope if either of our teams comes up against an SEC team... we put up 40+ on their D.
So I say, "Go Tech!" ... also, I just can't root for OU.

So many things wrong with this...
Tech winning out is one of the worst possible scenarios for us.

Not so fast
Big 12 Conference championships (which we don’t have an abundance of) and national championships are our team goals. Neither can be earned if Tech goes undefeated.

I'm rooting for my team's success....
I will not root for any other team’s success especially one that is directly in the way of our goals!

Granted...
as long as we stay somewhere in the top 4-6 in the BCS we’re guaranteed a BCS bowl even if Tech goes undefeated, just means we don’t have a conference or national championship to fight for.

Maybe if we had a crappy year
I could see myself pulling for a Big XII team to completely dominate but with us having a chance if Tech loses two of its next three, with the thought that we win out, I don’t see the point.

F Tech
Our easiest path to a Big 12 championship game is if OSU and OU beat Tech. Then we would hold the head to head tie breaker.

that's pretty much our only hope
unfortunately the timing of our loss is not very good. OSU or OU beating Tech very likely will vault them ahead of us in the BCS, which will be the tie-breaker in a three-way one-loss tie for the South title. both of them beating Tech makes the tie-breaker with the winner of the OU-OSU game head-to-head, which we would have. beating Baylor, Kansas, and A&M won’t help us much with voters or computers, especially since both the Harris and the Coaches have us below OU right now (which is bullshit).
man, it’s so frustrating to no longer be in control of our own fate.

Thank you
For your your classy display of sportsmanship. We at Tech know the Longhorns are the pre-eminent program in the big 12 south. We are honored to get a W over a great team.

Thanks for the Support
I try to root for other Big XII teams when bowl season rolls around just for the sake of the Big XII… Well aside from the Aggies that is. Thanks for the support and it’s a shame that your fellow fans can’t do the same.

Sorry
but…
Did any Penn State fan ever cheer for Michigan after they played each other in 2005?
Did any Buckeye fan cheer on Illinois after they played last year?
Did any Longhorn fan scream praise for Colorado after the Big XII CG in 2001?
How cordial was Oklahoma to Texas A&M the year after their upset loss to the Aggies ruined their perfect season?
No offense to Tech fans, as there has been a ton of class displayed on this website, but I personally will not be cheering for Tech in any fashion for the rest of the season. All respect goes out to Tech for the W, but for all intents and purposes they put a dagger in Texas’ season last night thats going to hurt for a while and be even harder to remove. My apologies, but any team that all but crushes Texas’ national championship hopes gets a permaban for the season from me. I will not root against them, but don’t look for me in their cheering section. And yes, if the roles were reversed and Crabtree doesn’t catch that pass, I would expect a large number of Tech fans to react the same way.
"Stats are for losers, I like winning games."

Correct me if I am wrong
but Texas is #4 in the BCS with Tech, Penn, & Bama in front of us. Now that would tell me that if Tech loses, and Bama Loses while we win out (to include the Big 12 Championship) Then we play Penn for the title. Also if you elect to pull for any team other than the Horns, you sir are not a true Orangeblood so go play on Techs site.

To hookem'kp
I bleed black blood. I do not pose as a longhorn fan. My best friend is a longhorn fan, and is happy to get me to root for the Longhorns against UCF! I love my Red Raiders. I was just paying homage to a great school, city, and fanbase. You’re welcome.

I respect your position. Thx for not being a hater. But I certainly understand your pain. Always next year.

OU?
Am I the only one that thinks if we start rooting for OU:
1. Not only will we lose our Texas souls, but
2. If they beat Tech and OSU, they’ll leapfrog us in the BCS?
A conference title would be great, but I just know the voters love OU more than Texas. Exhibit A being this week’s USA Today Poll.

If Texas and OU are the two one loss teams left over
We will get another quality win in the championship game, and the computers will keep us above OU.
Also, for as far down as we are in the human polls, the percentages are close together, we have a pretty solid hold at #4, win the conference, and theres no way OU leaps over us.

USA Today Poll
Is CRAP. No reason for you all to be lower than OU. No reason.
