My GOD, how long as it been?

I've been away for quite some time, and I gotta say, it's good to be back!  I missed you guys.  I can't wait to get involved in some of the discussions again and get to know some of the new members as well as get some discussions with some of the old timers (I'm talking to you, PHF and 54b).

It may take me a few days to get caught back up.  As far as the sight goes (I've been keeping up with the 'Horns) what have I missed?

Hey man

Hope you and yours are well.

Site is humming along—lots of new readers, as well as many, many long-timers. It’s been a fun football season, that’s for sure.

How do you check someone’s user ID?

Click on their username

Then look in the BON box among their list of blogs. It’s not there for all users for some reason, but it is for yours. You should switch your UID with 54b, btw.

Those it isnt there for

I believe didn’t link an old BON login with their new SBNation login. The UID is a vestige from when there were different logins on each site, since that went away, no new UIDs have been given. At least, thats my understanding.

Yep

I believe you are dead-on with that assessment.

So you're saying that now I have to think of some witty Sig that will be applicable across all the SBN sites? Go TexanHornStros!

He's ALIVE!!!

Welcome back, mister. I’ve been waiting all year for your take on this awesome 2009 recruiting class. You’ve got a lot to catch up on – and catch us up on!

This class is freakin' GOOD

I think a lot of these guys are going to surprise. Even though their “ranking” wouldn’t suggest. Most under-rated: Alex Okafor. And he’s highly ranked. I think he’s gonna be a force along the lines of Orakpo when it’s all said and done. Dude has a serious motor.

Oh, and if we somehow land Devon Kennard out of AZ, this would easily go down as the best D-line class Texas has ever had in one class. With or without McFarland (which I hope we get!).

Agreed

Okafor dominated at a camp (Nike?) fairly recently. Great size and speed. He could be a five-star when the final rankings come out. It looks like he could use a few more pounds, but he’s only 18 and he will put on weight when he gets to the 40.

Anybody know which guys are planning on enrolling early, besides Marcus Davis?

Garrett Gilbert: 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year

Others rumored to be enrolling early

OL Thomas Ashcraft
OL Mason Walters
DE Dominique Jones
DE Alex Okafor
LB Tariq Allen
CB Marcus Davis
FS Kenny Vaccaro

In the world of recruiting, nothing is set in stone until it happens, but this is the list I was able to find so far.

Speaking of good

Lake Travis quarterback Garrett Gilbert has been named Central Texas football Player of the Week for his performance in Friday’s bidistrict playoff game against LBJ.

The Texas-bound senior accounted for seven touchdowns — four on the ground — as the Cavaliers romped to a 55-14 victory. He finished with 267 yards passing and 102 yards rushing.

He completed 18 of 24 passes. For the season he has 41 TD passes and 2 INTs.
