BcS
The Good:
-Texas is still #2 in front of ou after beating down Tech.
-If Texas plays well against a&m Thursday on national television, they can win some votes back.
-Mack will start lobbying after they beat a&m on Thursday.
-I heard some coaches don't participate in the coaches poll until the final ballot (may hurt or help).
-The computers seem to love Texas
-Texas will atleast get the Fiesta Bowl if they do get screwed. I don't really see a difference in the Fiesta Bowl and the Holiday Bowl. The only difference is the school gets more money, but I don't know how it benefits the players in any way. Another reason a playoff is the obvious answer.
The Bad:
-The importance of the Red River Rivalry is obiously diminishing, because Texas beat ou by 10 points and ou is about to pass them in the BCS.
-Texas might beat a&m Thursday, but a&m may still beat Texas in a way by simply being a crappy team. A win against a&m won't help them at all in the BCS unless they can win some human votes.
-It might rain on Thursday night, which may hurt the style points that are much needed against a&m.
Extra stuff:
It shouldn't matter how much you beat opponents by or who you played if the team your trying to pass beat you by 10 points. The only time it should matter is if you haven't played a team, and your trying to convince people why your team should be ahead of a team that you haven't played.
The Texas fans must have DKR rockin' Thursday night.
GO BAYLOR! BEAT TECH
COLT FOR HEISMAN!

Ridiculous
How is it that OU is going to jump us when we beat a healthy #6 OSU in week 8, and OU plays a 2-loss #13 OSU on the last week of the regular season?
To hell with Mack lobbying for us. Let’s see what kind of votes we get after Muschamp gets twenty mins with the press!

Fiesta vs Holiday
The school does not get more money, as the Big 12 splits the revenue between all of the schools after expenses.
Going to a BCS is huge for the players though, as the amount and quality of the free stuff they get is directly related to the total payout of the bowl.

someone i’m sure will correct me on this, but i think when texas went to the national championship.. the players got some free game systems (like 360s)…
it was ironic because there were some players earlier in the season/offseason who were kicked off the team for stealing.. among the things they stole were gaming consoles.
someone correct me where i’m wrong.

That’s right, I remember that now. But wasn’t it Andre Jones and Robert Joseph who didn’t get the systems that were handed out at the Holiday Bowl? My memory is fuzzy too.

As far the BCS bowls go
no theyre isnt a huge difference, but when people say Texas went to a BCS bowl it is more impressive. Its a bigtime game, top 5 bowl game, against a REAL opponent. You get a chance to make a statement with everybody watching.

Unless you're Oklahoma
Then you get a chance to be hook-and-lateral’d and statute-of-liberty’d in front of the entire country. And to think that these are the losers we beat head to head that are about to jump us in the BCS. Ugh.

Its simple people. Right now, after the nation watched OU destroy the same Tech team that Texas lost to, that OU, in the minds of most voters, is playing better right now. Nothing you can do about it, not whine, not write your congressman, NOTHING. In my opinion, OU and Texas are the 2 best teams in the Country and a re-match would be alot of fun to see. Heres hoping that there is a football god and he graces OU with the chance to right the terrible wrong that occured October 11th.

45-35
UT needs to hand signs out to everyone at the a&m game Thursday with the score of the TEXAS vs ou game on it. Hopefully it will remind everyone watching that TEXAS beat ou by 10 this year. What is the d*mn debate?

if we spank Aggie like Florida (will do) and Ohio St. (did do)
against their vastly inferior rivalry teams then we have a good chance in my humble opinion. Could help UT is that the Aggie game a) doesn’t have much competition on other networks, and b) is not the early game.
If, just as the majority of voters are pushing away from the table after a second round of turkey n’ tatters, Colt puts up better stats than his fellow Big XII QB’s/Heisman candidate brethren then we just might impress enough voters to hang on. Of course Christmas could just come early in the form of Baylor/Okie St. victories and we’d all be able to focus on whether we’ll be facing a scary Florida or beatable ’Bama team!!!
