IT'S GAMEWEEK!

can we start talking more about the a&m game this thursday? i know it's kinda hard; not much to say given poor aggies' terrible season and everyone's expectations that we're gonna win.  but still, i feel...weird not reading some type of commentary/numbers/stats/story...anything on the team we're about the play!

thoughts? comments? aggie insults? anyone worried about another upset?

there will be plenty of time to talk BCS and voters and 45-35 after the game.

damn i wish it was thursday already. the last game i was able to go to was OSU.  major home gameday withdrawals :(

I worry about another upset

simply because it was just as unthinkable the last two years. All-and I mean ALL-signs point to an absolute evisceration, but stranger things have happened.

I KNOW!

I was completely wrapped up in BCS-hatred, and then I saw Martellus Bennett’s entry into the Douchebag Hall of Fame. Seriously? A chronic underachieving Tight End whose team’s never even sniffed mediocrity is going to trash our team and quarterback? How can you “expect to beat Texas every year” when only two years ago you were mired in a five-year string of double-digit beatdowns. Aggies aren’t just morons, they fall into two categories: (1) those who are ignorant of the fact they are morons or worse (2) are actively proud of it. I am fueled with Aggie hatred.

Revenge motivates my hatred more than ever

Last Thanksgiving+1, I had to watch the game with my better half’s family (grandfather an aggie?!). They are not big aggie fans or super anti-Texas or anything, but I felt pretty darn embarrassed sitting there in my Burnt Orange while we were dismembered. This year it must be total annihilation! I hate aggie 10X more than ou. Shut those morons out (unless Chiles plays in the fourth – then allow those morons only one defensive touchdown)!

May Colt be with you. Yeah, that's right.

Seniors want to avoid this hideous statistic

There are a lot of seniors who will play this game with incredible pride. Think of the terrific Longhorns who will be fondly remembered for years to come and have made this a breakthrough season and will be graduating: Cosby, Miller, Ogbonnaya, Orakpo. Some were valuable contributors to our national title, and they went 3-1 against an oklahoma team that had owned us. However, these guys are a mere 1-2 against the agros. Does anyone think they want to be the first class since 1995 to finish with a losing record against these sheep-loving clowns?

While I’m at it, A&M fans are the worst. They have the golden reputation as the tradition-loving gentlemen and ladies with hearts of gold, but that’s not true now if it ever was. Today’s Aggie fan relentlessly attacks his team and coach, trashing them all year long. But if they beat Texas the cocky attitude appears from nowhere the second the game ends. Today’s Aggie defends and even laughs at illegal hits on opposing QBs that are disavowed even by their own COACH. Mack, Colt let’s bury these guys.

Can't work up too much hate for Ags

One point is that any good recruits the Ags get, OU won’t get. So I’d definitely like to have them improve some, especially enough to give Tech a beating now and again. But I don’t worry about the Ags much because their athletic dept is pretty much in turmoil – they keep bringing in old Ags to run things (e.g., Old John David Crow), who don’t know much about the world of modern college athletics, and this looks like it won’t change any time soon.

The two losses the last couple of years were the fault of the Horns and no one else. We just stunk up the place in both games and truly deserved to lose. Not their fault if we just hand it to them. As Coach Royal described TCU, his old nemesis, the Ags are like cockroaches: “It ain’t what they pick up and carry off, but what they fall into and spoil.”

But my Aggie friends indicate that speed is their biggest deficit, which means they match up with the Horns very badly, on offense and defense. Provided the Orange receivers don’t drop everything in sight early on, like against Tech, then the Ags will quickly look for an excuse to roll over and die. The question then becomes how much Coach Brown wants to roll up points on them. I’d prefer a good pasting, but kicking the dead, like OU vs Tech, would be very unseemly. Things do come around eventually.

BTW: Has anyone taken a snap at OU besides Bradford? Nor anyone at Tech besides Harrell? Has neither team EVER stopped rolling up points on everyone they get up on? Why don’t the sports writers ever talk about who played a classy game, instead of who stomped whom? Doesn’t sportsmanship count any more?

BUT, speaking for the older Horns, my personal hates are SMU (and seeing Craig James on TV all the time makes me want to puke), Number one above all else, and then Notre Dame (historically the dirtiest team in college football). In my long term perspective, the Okies are just hicks, and not really despicable.

nice perspective

for me, aggies and their daily shenanigans usually just annoy, humor, and/or confuse me rather than stir up feelings of hate. but every now and then the hatred does surface…

i think this year has just been too bad for them to inspire any kind of real spite from me. but then again, these past two years keep coming to mind.

and not sure if Tech has usually kept Harrell in for complete games this season, but OU did pull Bradford last saturday and i’m pretty sure they have been putting their other guy in for mop up duty in their other games as well.

Aggies always bugged my dad and grandpa.

When my grandpa moved here from Kansas, he told me, “I didn’t know what team I was gonna root for, but it wasn’t gonna be the aggies.” He thought they were the biggest goofs that were so full of themselves.
My dad grew up in small town Texas and generations of his family had farmed. He wasn’t ashamed to be from a small town or the son of a farmer, but he never believed in acting like a hick and being proud of it like the aggie tend to do…
I don’t care that much b/c the aggies have sucked so bad the last 10 or 15 years, but I sure as hell don’t like to hear them talk….52-3 and HOOK EM!

Let's review the Aggies Resume

8/30 Arkansas State L 18-14
9/06 @ New Mexico W 28-22
9/20 Miami (FL) L 41-23
9/27 Army W 21-17
10/04 @ No. 21 OkState L 56-28
10/11 Kansas State L 44-30
10/18 No. 7 Texas Tech L 43-25
10/25 @ Iowa State W 49-35
11/01 Colorado W 24-17
11/08 No. 6 Oklahoma L 66-28
11/15 @ Baylor L 41-21

There is not one notable win. Also 3-4 against unranked teams

I think we have this one. Let’s talk about the score

Somehow they put 28 on OU and 25 on TT. Reason would state we would just have to win by about 40; however, I would fell better about a shutout 63-0
