Best team in the nation for 59:59
Last season, LSU hammered the hell out of "we're undefeated in regulation" and "we're the best team in the nation in regulation". If texas wants to overcome OU in the polls, they need to start their own ridiculous campaign and remind everyone that only one second separates them from being undefeated.
59:59 needs to become a new mantra, right after 45-35. I would even argue that you may want to replace 45-235 with 59:59. If Mack reminded the media that the only thing that separates texas from an uindefeated season AFTER beating OU is one second and one play, I think he'd make a more memorable case for texas. Just sayin....

Good point
If it weren’t for the fact that Texas was getting run over for most of that game. Tech definitely played better than Texas for most of that game. We just came up with ridiculous ways to stay in it.
I definitely understand where you’re coming from on this, but I don’t know that I would go that method first.

Tech
barely showed up in the second half. They drilled us in the first and had a 16 point lead going into the half but our guys showed up in the 3rd and started chipping away at that lead. We had two possible picks late but couldn’t take advantage and then Harrell and Crabtree hooked up for the miracle play at the end. OU and OSU took it to us harder than Tech did to make us earn our wins.

The only comment
is that Texas led for approx 1:28 of the Tech game. And none when it counted.

Respectfully Disagree
59:59 is an excuse for not taking care if business. We didn’t and we need to live with it.
But we did take care of business where it counts.
45-35.
By talking about the Tech game we are only distracting from the head-to-head comparison with OU and bringing Tech back into the conversation. This significantly takes away from our win over OU.
45-35 and noting but.

Indeed
Which of course means that 65-21 against Tech should be thrown out the window as well, the mantra for OU fans. Right, Master Beergut?

Beergut
I was willing to overlook having Mariotti and Cowherd on our side, but having Beergut on our side, makes me feel more than dirty, especially during a&m week; it makes me die a little inside.

Beergut really doesn’t have anything else to root for at this point. Hell, look at his team! Pretty pathetic when Baylor is considered the up-and-coming program.
I mean rooting for a&m this year is like cheering for gangrene to only take the foot and not the leg.
And rooting for Oklahoma to beat Okie State is kinda like cheering on some guy to bang your sister.
Yes…I too am hearing my heartbeat as a long, slow cadence of death as the final week of the season wraps up.

final score?
By how much does UT need to win by to impress the voters? I think the line is 35, so is that the starting point?

Defense
We need a strong defensive win more than anything. Aggies put up 28 on Ok State, 25 on Tech and 28 on OU. A shutout or 3-7 points max for them would be a solid defensive statement. The win can’t and won’t be able to compare to an OU win over OSU unless that win is very ugly and controversial but if we can get a 42-0 or a 56-10 and dominate them all four quarters with them only getting points late on our backups then I think that can get some of our votes back.

a&m's game plan
Serious question…what do yall think the aggies game plan will be…will we see the resurrection of McGee and Lane in a ball-controlled game?

I doubt Lane will see the field unless it is short yardage
Sherman hasn’t used him much this season, which is really a shame.
I think we’ll try to take advantage of your poor secondary, and pass the ball on you.
Our biggest problem will be the fact that y’all have a very good run defense, and we can’t run on poor defenses, much less good ones. I also expect us to struggle against your pass rush, but that is nothing knew for our offense this season.

No No No No No
In politics the simpler the better. Texas beat OU. It did get some mileage. It did get some votes. Doesnt mean I believe it is a good argument, but it worked. The only help now that Texas can have is to pile it up on A&M and hope that Tech loses.
