Corso to explain why he thinks Texas should be over OU on Gameday

....coming up on Gameday this morning.  Herbie thinks OU will stay ahead.  We'll see!  Good debate about the situation, and you gotta think it's good to hear the publicity for the situation, too.  Fun to see some 45-35 representation at Gameday, too.  I'm sure OSU fans are LOVING getting in on the argument, and rubbing 45-35 in Sooner's faces....Ha ha ha....  Come on Baylor, sack up and end all the insanity for the big 12.

Herbie and Corso agree

Even Fowler seems like he’s on board with Texas over OU in the rankings. But, Herbie believes what WILL happen is that OU will take the lead if they win tonight. Don’t know that I disagree with that, even if I don’t agree that it should happen.

I didn’t like the assertion that USC goes to the title game if Tech wins the big 12. Why should USC leapfrog Texas if they don’t win their conference, either? This assumes that Oregon State can win the Civil War tonight.

Makes me feel sick

If OU or USC go to the MNC

Go Oregon State!

Anything that shows USC isn’t even the top team in their garbage can of a conference is good with me.

Why should Texas . .

go over Tech if Tech has the head-to-head win, a conference championship, the better record (12-1 to 11-1) and rendering the Missouri game moot (as Tech would have just beaten them).

Again, I think Texas fans are vastly underestimating this scenario. If you’re a BCS coach voting in the polls would you want to set that precedent?

because

the perception of texas tech is that they are not as good as texas. Whether if that is fair or not is another matter.

People think that Texas is the real deal and lost in a game they easily would have won. Tech lost all its mojo last weekend.

let me re-state

Because The real texas tech is the team that got blown out by OU, was taken to the wire against BU at home and squandered a huge 2nd half lead against texas at home.

I’d probably rather watch penn state in the MNC than tech

Tech got knocked out

OU destroying Tech kicks them out of the equation. If OU loses to OK State, Tech could potentially be back in the equation. I want OU to win by a tiny margin of OSU so we still have 45-35 to hold over them.

precedent

it’s happened before as well – Nebraska gets rolled by Colorado – Colorado wins Big 12 and then Neb. went to national championship

Not exactly

Nebraska had one loss, Colorado had two.

Blowout

Tech blew a 19 point lead over a battered and bruised Texas and barely survived at home. Blew out Ok State which was impressive but then got blown out versus OU. If you’re picking for the national title and just for debate you have Florida on one side and Texas and Tech on the other do you go with the team that lost by six on the road after facing four straight ranked teams or do you go with the team that got completely blown out in their only loss and has two division II wins on their schedule? If Tech goes to play for the national title then I really don’t think they stand a chance against Florida. If it’s Bama then it could be close but if it’s Florida I think Tech gets destroyed.

Why not set Ole Miss over Florida?

Texas lost in the final seconds in an away game. Tech got forcibly violated in every possible way on national television. Only a Tech fan would honestly believe that Texas Tech still deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Texas or Oklahoma.

Bring this up

once you beat Baylor and Mizzou if it happens. It is absolutely no sure thing you beat Mizzou on a true road game, considering what just happened in your last true road game.

I might be in the minority

But I’d rather USC go than Tech or OU. Not that I love USC, but I don’t want OU to go after losing to us, and I don’t want Tech to go after getting thrashed and barely escaping us. So, if we can’t go, I don’t want a Big 12 team in there!

Can't forgive USC

There’s just no way that USC should be in a title game after losing to Oregon State. ESPN would get their way with their blatant love for USC most of the time and we’d have a team from a horrible conference in the MNC. I’d be sick for a week if USC went to the championship game.

By the same logic...

Florida shouldn’t been in the title game either. Florida lost at home to Ole Miss, at least USC lost on the road. I’m kind of on jungle’s side, I’d almost rather see USC in the title game (puke) than an OU team we beat head to head.

Pac 10 sucks though

Florida lost at home to Ole Miss but if they win out they will have ranked wins versus a then ranked LSU, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida State and a #1 Alabama. I just don’t see how USC could go over Florida when USC has been sitting at #5 or worse almost the entire season. If USC goes then it would be rewarding weak schedules.
