For Baylor to win, they can’t have self-inflicted mistakes like this. That could have been the game right there. Instead, they allow Tech to take momentum into halftime.

by Hookem4life84 on Nov 29, 2008 4:11 PM CST reply actions

It doesn't work half the time

In fact, in the NFL this year, a kicker specifically said he was glad the other team did that because it allowed him to just kick the ball down the middle and see what the wind did to it (he missed the first, obviously). He then made the proper adjustments on his second kick and won the game.

So it gets a lot of publicity, but it’s pretty much rolling the dice.

Art Briles

From Stephenville ISD to UH to Baylor knows & can recruit Texas

by shadyrock on Nov 29, 2008 4:11 PM CST reply actions

Tech has 138 yards passing, -3 rushing, 135 total. Pathetic.

Baylor has 180 total yards, 146 of that rushing, and a two minute lead in ToP, 16-14. These are solid stats.

by whills on Nov 29, 2008 4:15 PM CST reply actions

They need more ToP

Unfortunately, Tech’s last scoring drive was over seven minutes long.

by TheElusiveShadow on Nov 29, 2008 4:16 PM CST up reply actions

If this holds...

…would voters still have OU over us (and therefore #2 in the BCS) with an OU blowout win?

Logic says they’d have to put Texas ahead of OU, but it’s also completely illogical that some voters will determine where Texas and OU will be ranked related to one another based on the result of the Tech-Baylor game.

by Hopkins Horn on Nov 29, 2008 4:16 PM CST reply actions

don't worry about it too much yet....long way to go.

But remember, if Texas goes to KC and wins, it’ll have Head to Head and big 12 title as trump cards over OU. hard to overlook that, no?

We’ll worry about any of that IF these things hold up. Long way from over, and OU still has to win, too.

by junglerules on Nov 29, 2008 4:22 PM CST up reply actions

if things stand, it doesn’t matter what OU does tonight

by Smalls1221 on Nov 29, 2008 4:23 PM CST up reply actions

It's really the only usefulness of human voters ...

They should realize teams play at different levels from game to game. Okie Lite and the Sand Aggies played lights out against us, but if they fold like lawn chairs against OU and other opponents it should be enough to convince them.

Texas '06.

by afrokinger on Nov 29, 2008 4:20 PM CST up reply actions

The speeed of Florida is…INSANE!!!

by HookemHorns25 on Nov 29, 2008 4:48 PM CST reply actions

our defense isn't exactly slow

the big 12 offenses have just given the defenses ugly ugly stats

by APinAustin on Nov 29, 2008 4:49 PM CST up reply actions

Honestly, at this point

We may have to hope for Baylor to continue to move the ball and hold on. They aren’t going to stop Tech much more than they have.

by TheElusiveShadow on Nov 29, 2008 4:49 PM CST reply actions

you can't expect to hold tech to 14 points

but if baylor can keep ramming the ball down their throats on the ground, i’m fine with tech answering on long, time consuming drives

Dangit...

It doesn't matter if you win or lose, as long as you come in first.

by Super Saiyan Patrick on Nov 29, 2008 4:52 PM CST reply actions

I get the feeling it took everything Tech had to make that drive and score.

Which is to say, nothing is coming easy to them. That’s good for Baylor.

Xavier Daniel Lee (born January 9, 1986 in Daytona Beach, Florida) is a former Florida State Seminole quarterback. He was signed by the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2008, but has since been released. Lee currently is a wide receiver for the Southern New Hampshire Beavers, a semi-pro team.

It’s ok, cant expect to stop them everytime, just keep scoring

by Smalls1221 on Nov 29, 2008 4:53 PM CST reply actions

He was a bad kid I think? Correct me if I’m wrong

by HookemHorns25 on Nov 29, 2008 4:53 PM CST reply actions

Does Auburn want to win?

They’re trying their hardest not to

by bamfor on Nov 29, 2008 4:53 PM CST reply actions

I am rooting for Auburn

but the offense has been non-existent. It looks like the team gave up on Tuberville.

by milevin on Nov 29, 2008 4:54 PM CST up reply actions

That's good

It’s rough on the defense, but long drives now for Tech is not what they want coming from behind.

by TheElusiveShadow on Nov 29, 2008 4:54 PM CST reply actions

The bad news is that Tech got some life from that score and their D got rest

The good news is that Griffin got some rest too, and Tech’s D hasn’t stopped the run all day.

by TheElusiveShadow on Nov 29, 2008 4:55 PM CST reply actions

Shutup tech fans you’re getting beat by Baylor! You’ve got nothing going your way either!

by HookemHorns25 on Nov 29, 2008 4:56 PM CST reply actions

to stop the run, tech secondary's gonna start creeping up

and then those track star WRs are gonna run right by them

by APinAustin on Nov 29, 2008 4:56 PM CST reply actions

Truly are track stars!

by HookemHorns25 on Nov 29, 2008 4:56 PM CST reply actions

Other games incredibly boring

Now Tech waking up. Need some VY-style magic.

by Horn Brain on Nov 29, 2008 4:57 PM CST reply actions

They should just have Griffin run it every single play

and throw the 2 point conversions just to keep the Tech D honest

by bamfor on Nov 29, 2008 4:57 PM CST reply actions

That was huge! Sucked the wind out of the crowd!

by HookemHorns25 on Nov 29, 2008 4:58 PM CST reply actions

hell of a block!!

OU Sucks

by HornFan124 on Nov 29, 2008 4:59 PM CST reply actions

Notice the tech band just blaring before that play

by HookemHorns25 on Nov 29, 2008 4:59 PM CST reply actions

griffin

this guy is special – someone remind me why he’s at baylor

by BMG on Nov 29, 2008 5:00 PM CST reply actions

Actually agree with the commentators

Get the yards, you don’t have to break it.

Texas '06.

THE TECH BAND IS GETTING ON MY NERVES!

by HookemHorns25 on Nov 29, 2008 5:03 PM CST reply actions

big play

bu need’s to use the rest of the qtr

by burntorange81 on Nov 29, 2008 5:04 PM CST reply actions

that bracket was stupid

texas should be on the very bottom, not on the same side as bama

by APinAustin on Nov 29, 2008 5:04 PM CST reply actions

oh weel

need a good punt then 3 & out

by burntorange81 on Nov 29, 2008 5:05 PM CST reply actions

Too conservative with the play call

It doesn't matter if you win or lose, as long as you come in first.

by Super Saiyan Patrick on Nov 29, 2008 5:05 PM CST reply actions

94 yard TD drive

instead of 52 yard TD drive.

Sideline reporter is a knucklehead.

Very good Tour de France coverage. Football? Not so much.

thats just crap

He was standing in his own endzone and calm as could be cause his line was holding like crazy

Agreed

unless they’re going to run a screen, which they did. Still think they need 4 5 in rush.

Tech has scored a TD each Quarter

So logically baylor needs one more score and they win!

Holding is exclusively defensive.

Two penalties save Tech’s butt on this drive.

by Horn Brain on Nov 29, 2008 5:16 PM CST reply actions

Future head coach?

Let’s see if they stop Tech, here, first.

by Horn Brain on Nov 29, 2008 5:17 PM CST reply actions

Come on Baylor.

TO right here. Length of the field to score. Also don’t let this be a TD.

by Horn Brain on Nov 29, 2008 5:19 PM CST reply actions

What the heck is going on?

I get teh offsides on the INT, but what happened on the holding? Also, damn.

New thread?

by Horn Brain on Nov 29, 2008 5:21 PM CST reply actions

goota go be back for the next game. not giving up hope yet.

by burntorange81 on Nov 29, 2008 5:36 PM CST reply actions

Remember Mizzou losing a game today to unranked KU

Tech beating Mizzou next week wont be enough to jump us if OU loses
