PrintIf OU does get the spot today, the discussion that really needs to heat up this week is Texas or Florida. Florida is way behind in the computer polls and while a win over Bama would be a big boost, Texas would still be superior in the strength of schedule and would have a win over what would be the strongest team in the computer polls.....Oklahoma. Florida is not going to pass Texas in the computer polls, and how many more of a vote lead can Florida get over Texas than it already has?? If OU destroys Mizzou next week, and Florida squeaks by Bama.......this could get interesting. Maybe there needs to be a new website for the Ole Miss-Florida score!!

No it won't
If you are in the top 3-5 and you beat an undfeated #1 in the SEC Championship game on National TV, they are going to put you in the title game. And deservedly so.
The question is not whether Florida or Alabama deserves to go. They both deserve it at this point and they will play a game to decide which goes.
The problem is that TX and OK do not get the same opportunity to play a game to decide who goes……. oh wait, yeah they did play didn’t they? Who won that game again?

If Florida beats Alabama, and OU does indeed pass us today and beat Missouri, those two schools will eat up all of the #1 votes in both polls next week. Texas will be a consensus #3, but it won’t be enough.

If Florida wins against Bama it will be Florida and OU if OU does jump to #2 today, and by the way when should the bcs rankings be out? the best bcs national championship game scenario and a good game to watch would be Florida – Texas, hands down
You can't penalize Florida
Yeah I know they’ve been blowing out overrated ranked SEC teams, granted a couple of those have lost rank now, but they’ll have the SEC championship in their back pocket. If we’re in their position ranked in the top 4 and win our conference but Florida and Bama are the media darlings and the Big XII south had an above average year with no controversy would it be fair to put Bama and UF in Miami because it’d be one hell of a match-up even though we had the Big XII championship? We’d all be beyond pissed off. I hate the SEC but Florida will have earned their BCS championship bid if they beat the #1 team in the country in the SEC championship then they get the nod over us.
Baylor killed our best shot by letting Tech get back in it and Mizzou hurt us the most in the computers. Chances are OU won’t lose to Missouri. Anything’s possible, this is college football so crazier things have happened, but right now you should just prepare yourself that OU won’t lose to Mizzou no matter how wrong it is that they’d go and not us and that we’ll finish 3rd in the polls and probably get the Fiesta.

its just a shame that they really arent wanting to implement a better system and even if they did theyd have to prepare for it years in advance, does anyone else disagree that the best possible national championship game would be florida and texas? and it just blows that we have to go to the fiesta bowl seriously going to a bowl is like whoopty doo because theres 9000 bowls out there, only one matters, and im sick of herbstreit trying to please everyones fans saying texas is better ou is better florida is better bama is better, pick someone and stick with it, if he has a ballot id hate to see it , all the scribble marks and everything my god..i wish bevo would hook him
