Miami in 2000
This whole situation reminds me a bit of Miami in 2000 when they beat FSU head to head and then had to watch an underserving FSU go to the national championship game and lose (to who else but OU) Miami was probably the best team in football that year and they got stuck going to (i think) the sugar bowl.
However, it wasn't all bad because they took that disrespect and turned it around to be one of the best teams of this century the next year en route to winning a national championship.
Maybe this slight will leave a bad taste in Colt's mouth and be enough to bring him back next year to lead a powerhouse, pissed off UT team

I don't know who to blame
OSU, Mizzou, or cough Gideon.
Most likely Mizzou.

I would like to be optimistic about next week...
but after watching Mizzou yesterday, I give them almost zero chance of beating OU. Unless, this game is riddled with turnovers that lead to TDs for the Paper Tigers and the mighty Hobbit rises up to slay the dragon, does anyone realistically see OU losing to this pathetic team. I know the game will be in their backyard, but I don’t think that’s much of an advantage unless there is swirling winds, snow and a sloppy field.

Conference Championship
Miami at least won the conference. Texas does not even get a chance.

I actually remember
Bobby Bowden said in his post-game press conference, after an unusually ugly championship game, that “it probably should have been Miami here.”
We had the whole head-to-head debate then, as well.
The worst part is that OU benefited that year, just as they will this year. Does anyone think OU had a shot against Miami? If not for the unjust quirk that sent FSU to the Orange Bowl, Stoops would still be without a title.
