McFarland
Per Orangebloods, Jamarkus McFarland, 5 star DT prospect out of Lufkin, is set to take his official visit to the Baylor game this Saturday. I hope he will see a good thrashing laid up on the Bears. I think he took his official visit to LSU 2 Saturdays ago. Are the chances of us landing him good?
Also, does anyone have any updates for Kennard or Kirkpatrick? I know they are both out-of-staters, but we are still on their lists. How many scholarships do we have left?

McFarland
My educated guess would be 60% Texas, 40% Sooners.

From everything I have heard
LSU still figures prominently into the equation. I have to think that the opportunity to walk onto campus and start at defensive tackle, possibly under Will Muschamp, will weigh heavily in the Longhorns’ favor.

Muschamp
will probably be gone. K-State is now in the mix for him. I hope he’s back to coach the D to a national title next year with McFarland!
Wasn't he?
Wasn’t he seen at the Red River Shootout cheering up and down when Texas won (even though the Sooners invited him as their guest)? That’s what I’ve heard. And I’ve also heard his mom really likes Texas and wants him to attend The University of Texas at Austin.

I have heard
He called Mack a few weeks ago and wanted to give a verbal, but he also told Mack he was not 100% sure. Mack then instructed him to wait until he was sure, that he did not want a commitment unless the kid was sure.
I could say someone with ties to the program
but, that would not really answer your question to your satisfction. I consider it a reliable rumor. I think all it really shows is he is a Texas lean and he is gettting tired of the recruiting process. (oh and that Mack is fearful of another Perriloser incident).
its always hard to verify an “insider” source, obviously, i was just curious if i missed it somewhere or something..
well that’s promising, hopefully he’ll be 100% ready to commit next time he talks to mack

Good work, BillB
Or good luck (on the source). Anyway, thanks. As gassed as UT’s defenders were against Tech, it seemed like only 3 DTs played. Since two are seniors, that does not bode well for 2009-10; boy, Mr. McFarland would look good wearing No. 98 or No. 99.
MCFARLAND
I can almost guarantee you that we don’t land Kennard, we don’t get Mcfarland and we don’t get Craig Loston. As far as Muschamp I don’t think he’s as great as everybody makes him out to be we were better off when we had gene chizik running the D.
