Smart play by Bo Scaife
I watched some of the Titans - Bears game today. Just before the 2 minute warning, Bo caught a pass and made the first down, He then slid to avoid any chance of being knocked out of bounds, thus keeping the clock running down to 2 minutes. As the Bears were out of timeouts, this guaranteed that Tennessee would keep the ball until time ran out. Smart, heads-up play. He put the team first, rather than trying to pad his stats. Just what we expect of a Longhorn. Of course, the talking heads completely missed this aspect of the play. I'll bet Jeff Fisher didn't miss it, though.

I saw this...
..and recall when Bryan Westbrook (Eagles) did this against the Cowboys a few years back..Fox talking heads were ALL over his nuts for this play. “That was such a smart play!”…I wish everyone wouldn’t hate on the Cowboys and appreciate other smart plays like Scaife’s. (sorry for the Cowboy bias)

Not exactly the same
Westbrook was wide open to score a TD, a player giving up a TD is a bigger deal than someone staying in bounds.
Not saying it wasnt a great job by Bo, but the Westbrook thing was different.
Anyone also see that Bo scored the Titans first TD? And Ahmard almost had the second one (terrible fumble instead). I also saw some great play by Vasher in the game, and I think it was Jammer who deflected KC’s 2 point conversion. Ricky ran wild as well. Not a bad day for the ’Horns.

Dave Thomas
Opposite of this was Dave Thomas’ bonehead personal foul last week.

I saw that one, too
I just had to believe that he didn’t hear the whistle. It would have been a perfectly legal block if the play was still live. I’m far from being a Patriot fan, but Dave Thomas was such a smart player here, I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Of course, if it had been an Aggie or OU alum, I would have called them a stupid blockhead.
