Big 12 "title" game
From this point forward, the Big 12 "title" game should be known as the Big 12 Consolation game for 2nd place is the Big 12. Since both teams lost to Texas, they are actually playing for 2nd place to see who can get the 2nd "at large" bid for the coference in the BCS games.
One more thing...
All this talk about style points is pissing me off, all the talk about is "Offensive" style points, since when does defense have no say in a football game and gets left out??? there should be defense "style points".

Right!
Missouri with 3 conference losses has no business playing for the conference championship, while UT and Tech with 1 loss and OSU with 2, sit at home. OU and UT should be playing the game. Either do away with the conference “championship” or have the top 2 teams play. And no, if the situation were reversed, I don’t think UT should be playing in the championship game if they had 3 conference losses.

couldn't agree more about defensive style points
For the Horns to be near the top 20 in scoring defense in the 2008 Big 12 (they played four of the top 10 offenses in the country) is an incredible achievement. Unfortunately, defensive style points lie with shutouts, pick sixes and crippled quarterbacks. For example, USC probably leads in defensive style points, since they have pitched three shutouts and held four other opponents, including Ohio State, to only 3. Alabama has two shutouts, including one recent one over Auburn. Texas doesn’t have a shutout, has relatively few defensive highlight plays, and then two bad defensive plays on Saturday night football to end the TT game.
The Horns are like a baseball team that wins by making all the fundamental plays on defense but not the flashy outfield catches or ridiculous double plays, a deep lineup of pitchers that don’t strike many out but routinely scatter 7-9 hits in a game, and hitters that are good in the clutch and always move the runner but don’t hit a lot of home runs. You can win an awful lot of baseball games and a World Series with a team like that, but it would never capture the imagination of anyone other than their loyal fans.
