I love Jim Rome!
Keep on burning Mr. Rome!
Seems he thinks Texas sitting home watching ou & Mizzou play for the Big XII championship is ridiculous. He said he thinks Texas Tech should have been out of the conversation and that Texas/ou head to head was all that mattered. He also stated he will be on his knees praying that Missouri gets the upset and sends Texas to the NCG over USC. He also made a Big Game Bob reference...gotta love it.

After I stopped liking Cowlishaw after pitching OU, Rome is my new favorite ESPN guy. Now I need a new Around the Horn guy

Or
I recommend dropping that show from your life.
You’ll be smarter and healthier for it. I promise.

If you have ever seen a show or clip of Woody Paige, your question would be answered. The guy is an idiot.

I quit watching ESPN three years ago
Because of shows like Around the Horn, The OMG GREATEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL TEAM OF ALL TIME (why even play the Rose Bowl?), Who’s Now, etc., etc., etc.
The games? Goodness yes, I watch lots of games on ESPN, but nothing else – not even Sports Center. The minute the game goes off, I change the channel. In its place, I read books, BON and EDSBS, and I’m much happier for it.
Friends may come and go, but enemies accumulate.

Too bad he annoys me more than anyone in the world...
… with those pauses and the paper shuffling. Hopefully his prayers are answered with a yes.

I always know Rome is on when nobody says anything for 5-10 seconds. That’s just good radio.

Are you kidding me?
Skip is by far the dumbest guy in sports! He says things that are self promoting! That is why The Dallas Morning News, The Ticket and That paper in San Jose gave him the boot. Espn put him up there because he says things that are controversal for controversy’s sake.

So what’s the likeliness of us picking up some votes in the final polls next week, since all the talking heads are now finally realizing we got screwed and the system sucks

ha, yea he does look like a gay cop. but at least he talks straight and says whats on his mind—in that way rome is more radio broadcaster than the powder puff television broadcasters that espn promotes (woody paige, cowlishaw, etc.). “mike and mike” is a nice try by espn to capture the raw appeal of sports radio, but neither of those douche bags ever has anything interesting to say.

I hate the politics of the BCS
I hate the BCS because politics plays such a big part.
Texas had a wonderful political stand – “Remember the cottonbowl”
But the results were the same as at the alamo – Texas lost.
Enough voters realized that it was a three way tie and not a simplistic two way tie that could be decided by who beat whom.
So basicly it was the “flip of a coin” and the computers said OU.
To hear Rome and others on ESPN you would not think it was a three way tie, but rather an undefeated Texas. Blame Tech not OU.
It wasnt long ago that Texas was rooting for OU so that they could be in a tie. Congratulations you got what you wanted.
Besides — I give Mizzu a 33% chance of winning on Saturday.
Oklahoma has done alot for Texas this year, and they may do lots more.
