Texas' lowest start in the poll since 2001 (started #15, won the whole darn thing).
Last 2 champions in the poll have started #21 and #41 (Fresno St and Oregon St).
LSU is #1 in the poll. The last time the #1 team preseason won the title was in 2005 (Texas).

To bad Russell and Danks didn’t stick around for one more year we would of had a better shot. Still a good team though
