Perfect

The great thing about this setup is that every game still matters, maybe more so than they do now. For example, Oregon – Oregon State. Not only did that loss cost Ore St a playoff spot, it also allowed the other OSU to sneak in as the last at-large. And, maybe Bedlam means more to the other, other OSU than just beating their in-state rival, as well.

I would pray for Tech to beat OU

Just so we could revenge that shit.

I love the idea...

minus the fact that every conference champion gets in the tourney. There is no way a 7-4 Troy from the Sun Belt should be picked over the number 2 Pac 10 team or the number 4 Big 12 team (just using those teams as examples). I say you take top 16 teams in the BCS. Period. That way you have the best 16 teams in the tournament, instead of including the Sun Belt Champs… But man would I like a Tech/OU rematch in the semifinals

So does this add four weeks to the schedule as it stands rights, or would this shave off a couple of games in the regular season?

All the playoff talk is great, but given the length of the season as it is already and the joy with which teams currently approach bye-weeks, all the talk of a playoff system – as much as it may “fix” the current situation – has been fairly ignorant of the torture these kids put their bodies through.
Yes, you can argue that they’d have to get used to this length of abuse to their bodies in the next level anyway, but for the majority of the student-athletes that don’t go on to play pro, I think it’s asking a lot for a playoff system in terms of length.

Mizzou, the land thieves, Gators and Tide are all gonna play 14 games this year. Div 1-AA/FCS, Div II, & Div III will do the same and they have a playoff. Are Div 1-A/FBS athletes more fragile?
