Fiesta Bowl Gameday Activities Thread

I thought I would start this thread to see if fellow fans or local alumni might provide more information on any pre-game or post-game festivities for the Fiesta Bowl.  My buddy and I are flying in the morning of the game and have tickets to some sort of pre-game tailgate, but I am not sure how good of a tailgate it will be.  Plus, meeting up with some fellow BON'ers might be more fun.

Anyway, any insight as what a Longhorn fan can do on the day of the game would be much appreciated.  We are hanging out one more day after the bowl to get in a few rounds of golf, but what else is one to do in Phoenix when not watching the Longhorns beat up on OSU?

Hook'em!

Robert

Perhaps the most recognizable mascot in sports, and certainly the toughest looking, Bevo is a fixture

What to see and do in Phoenix

Saw your comment and besides golfing in the area, Mill Avenue near ASU is full of restaurants and shops, also good’ol Scottsdale is packed with more restaurants, shops resorts, and more golf!

If you have any extra time, there is the drive up the road on I-17 north to Prescott, Sedona(The Redrock formations are awesome) and if you want to see snow, continue up the road to Flagstaff—all drivesnorth are about 1-2 hours one way. Also, be aware of the traffic cameras in/around Phoenix and do the speed limit! I am from Houston and have seen more traffic cops in 3 months than 13 years in HTown. Especially the road construction zone sites posting 45 MPH—DO IT!!! Phoenix has a great street system grid and you can’t really get lost, but do have a street map handy. The only confusing area is in/around Sky Harbor Airport.

The Cave Creek area is full of sports bar and the famous biker’s Hideaway.

Get your cameras ready for some really great sunsets and of course plenty of cactus.

Also, for anyone looking for inexpensive hotel rooms, The 4 Red Roof Inns in Phoenix have rooms available!
