Leach to Auburn - expected by Auburn alums

Local radio station here in Denver had call-in show about fates of various Big-12 coaches.  A couple of Auburn alums called in to say that Leach to Auburn is a done deal!  Haven't seen that speculation here at BON - just the line about Leach to UW.

This would be fascinating to watch: How would a well-coached spread offense do against the SEC "defensive powers"?  Supposedly, SEC d-linemen are all monsters, but how long would they last chasing minnow-receivers around for a few quarters?

Auburn boosters would really be on board with Leach?

He doesn’t seem like, uh, their cup of tea mint julep.

I must say though that it would be fun to see Leach’s offense at work in the SEC so we can put an end to this stupid SEC defense nonsense. For some reason Florida scoring 45 points a game on every SEC defense doesn’t rate.

Apparently not,

considering they just ran off a coach who had put together a 6-game win streak against the Tide. When’s that ever going to happen again?

Jong-Il would be a lateral move for Auburn...

While Jong-il is generally regarded as a defensive specialist, the word around the campfire is that Nick Saban’s got his number.

First of....

The SEC does not have a great defense….they have good defenses but they look great because of their anemic offenses. Why am I saying this?

1. We absolutely destroyed Arkansas with our first team defense…the same Arkansas team that managed to beat LSU.

2. Florida’s spread offense is just decimating other highly ranked defenses. Is Florida’s offense really that good(they can score at will against one of the nation’s best defenses) or does the opposing defense look better than it actually is in their other games?
