Texas with a .08 lead in the computers...

http://www.tellshowbcs.com/CP.html

Link

Looks like Florida will need a 80-85 total lead over us in the Harris to jump.  They will likely get this, but the computer average was much higher than anyone was projecting.  The highest I saw was .06, but most were projecting .05 or .04.

Unbelievable. With a computer edge that big, I dont think anyone in their right mind would have expected Florida to jump us.....

WOW! And the Harris Poll is two hours late today!! HUH??

It is my birthday today, and I’m praying for a miracle. All I want, is a Texas Miracle!

How does he figure the polls that haven’t been released yet?

by wizardimps on Dec 7, 2008 5:10 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Coaches polls and Computer polls are out. We are waiting for the Harris Polls, which are two hours late today!

by TexasEx01 on Dec 7, 2008 5:10 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Just expect the Fiesta

If we get the BCS title game then that’s icing on the cake. We’ll go kick the crap out of OSU or Utah and if we get Bama then that’s even better despite no MNC.

by seth78 on Dec 7, 2008 5:11 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

according to that same website...

if FLA has a 71pt lead in the Harris Poll, they’ll edge us out by .006

by longhornscardinals on Dec 7, 2008 5:11 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Ok, I’m a just paranoid or wishful thinking… I don’t understand why the Harris Poll isn’t out yet. This seems strange.

by TexasEx01 on Dec 7, 2008 5:13 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Wow .08 is just HUGE! I never expected that.

Maybe OU will steal some votes from UF, but remember that Florida beat ther "wonderful" Bama team by 11.

This is too crazy. Worse than last week!

by TexasEx01 on Dec 7, 2008 5:15 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

wow thats weird

you just took my post from the other thread and put it on here….right on…lol

by kriess on Dec 7, 2008 5:16 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Sorry, I’m sharing your wise words. It was my thought exactly. LOL!

Orange Bowl site selling Gator and Sooner items. Just saw that. Is this the end of all slim hope?

by TexasEx01 on Dec 7, 2008 5:21 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Most likely

does Bob stoops have a press conference scheduled yet? Does Urban Meyer?

by kriess on Dec 7, 2008 5:22 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

No Harris Poll yet? Are they holding results on purpose to keep things a secret?

by TexasEx01 on Dec 7, 2008 5:22 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Just saw this

The economy is so bad, Harris couldn’t afford the electricity to run his poll. No more poll.

Perhaps site speculating like the entire world. I’m sure they cannot reveal that yet.

by TexasEx01 on Dec 7, 2008 5:24 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

hahaha

You’re holding on to hope….I admire that Texasex01

by kriess on Dec 7, 2008 5:25 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

It's weird how things are learned...

Back in 2004, someone found a link to an ABC promo for a Texas-Michigan Rose Bowl before the results were known.

by Hopkins Horn on Dec 7, 2008 5:25 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Ya, this isn’t cool. And yes, still holding on to hope. I wansn’t expecting the huge computer gap, so now I’m hopeful again. :(

by TexasEx01 on Dec 7, 2008 5:26 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Yeah me too

I went into the acceptance mode after the USA Today went out….but now Im back to bargaining

No press conferences scheduled. However, that Orange Bowl site just made me sick. I guess it is over.

by TexasEx01 on Dec 7, 2008 5:27 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Sugar Bowl has Utah Red and Bama Burgundy

The Sugar Bowl has merchandise showing a red helmet (Utah) and burgundy one (Alabama).

Took everything off because I'm sure the BCS got mad that they put it there early.

We’re not in the game, man. I wish I was wrong, but I’m not.

Yep.

I also saw links to OU and UF stuff individually on the left side of the page where it now says BCS #1 and 2.

Gator and OU links on either side of the OB committee page.

We’re not there, folks. It’s been a good year. Let’s go BTHO Ohio State in Arizona now, and get hell-bent on revenge and our own MNC next season.

Harris Poll still isn’t out; however, I’m sure coaches and schools have been contacted. Sugar Bowl is already selling Bama and Utah items.

by TexasEx01 on Dec 7, 2008 5:47 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

harris isn't out

because Fox has a selection show, guys. There’s no chance.

Bye fellow Longhorns. Until Arizona.

Hook ’em!

Sugar Bowl has two red helmets that it's selling stuff for.

We’re not there either. We’re in Arizona, people. It sucks, but we just are.

we had a .05 lead in the computers, though .08 would have put us in the title game.

by Displaced Longhorn on Dec 7, 2008 6:32 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Where on earth were people getting the .08 from?

by TexasEx01 on Dec 7, 2008 6:34 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

We were all worked up for nothing!! Odd!

by TexasEx01 on Dec 7, 2008 6:34 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

This is not correct

I don’t think he has all the computer data and has only updated what has become public. Texas will not hold a .08 lead over Florida. It is just not gonna happen.

The Scout one is probably correct. .05.

According to
http://tellshowbcs.com/
we did have a .08 lead. But CFN says otherwise.

BCS Final Rankings

CFN is reporting the final BCS rankings:

We are third, right behind UF!

If our computer average is 2.00, shouldnt we be getting a .96 computer score?

No

That means we have the second highest computer average.

--AW--

by awiggo on Dec 7, 2008 6:44 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Probably

passed by OU in one poll and maybe Florida in another.

--AW--

by awiggo on Dec 7, 2008 6:51 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

We had .94

last week, though. .96 two weeks ago.

--AW--

by awiggo on Dec 7, 2008 6:52 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

In order for us not to get a .96 computer avg...

well first, according to the tellshowbcs website, we are #2 in 5 computers and #4 in the other. of course the lowest and highest get dropped…which would still give us a 2.00 average..resulting in .96. Some computer had to have us at #3 for us to have a lower computer average than 2.00..maybe 2.25 or 2.50.

That website

is wrong. Trust me. Florida was bound to make up ground in the computers. Texas had a .94 ranking last week and Scout is projecting that we held that same computer ranking. That is probably correct.

I thought we’d have a .04 advantage over Florida and a .05 advantage if we’re lucky. .08 was not really possible. That site is not accurate.

Championship

Shit I don’t know if it’s still on the table, but I have no problem sharing the title with Oklahoma if they beat Florida not that that would happen them beating Florida. But I would be satisfied pissing old poopsie off knowing that it’s just not his team winning the big show but he will always have to see our name with his on who won the 08 championship!

by kcmorse on Dec 7, 2008 6:53 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

never ever again

I will not root for OU to give us a shot to have a split. Cause if they win and we win big they will find a way to sneak them in as the undisputed champ and we will all be pissed. I would love for us to win big and Florida to win big and we settle in as the the solid #2. Thats all I want
