Colt McCoy is staying for his senior season!

I love this kid. He's such a competitor. This puts us in good shape for 2009 and Garrett Gilbert will have such a great person and leader to learn from. I know we all have a bad taste in our mouths from the BCS and Big 12 tiebreaker rules, but at least we have something to build on and look forward to in 2009! Hook 'em Horns!

i think he already said this earlier.
you never know till the end of the season. i remember being ecstatic when vince announced he was staying, and kevin durant saying he was staying, etc. i dont think he’ll be leaving but i still say wait till the end of the season.

From reading the article,
it doesn’t sound like the normal b.s. that you here. There’s no “wait and evaluate”, or “I don’t plan on leaving”, etc. If we’ve got Colt and Shipley back next year….

Impact of this cannot be overstated
Obviously this means alot for 2009, but even beyond that it will mean that our current young receivers will have gone through another summer of 7 on 7 with him and that Gilbert will have been in the program for a full year with him.

Thank Goodness!
And when does Shipley find out about that 6th year of eligibility he’s looking to get? I keep hearing its very likely he’ll get it.

Although I can’t remember whether Vince had started his exploratory mission before the Rose Bowl game, ESPN did mention this:
McCoy, a redshirt junior, said Monday he had also decided against testing the waters for the draft or seeking an evaluation for his coaches at UT from the NFL.
I would say that bodes well for everyone holding their breath.
