O/T - Anyone attending the debate tonight in Austin?

I'm not trying get all political up in this joint, but is anyone so privileged as to be attending the most anticipated live Austin-area event since Wade Miller made that rehab start for the Express a few years ago?

Star-divide

Oh, and any suggestions for a debate-watching drinking game would be greatly appreciated (e.g., "If Hillary does the Soulja Boy/Superman dance to woo the African American vote, drink a fifth of vodka.).

Just a warning

Keep it super civil/respectful. Politics are out of bounds here. I'll delete the diary if the discussion gets beyond the peripherals into an actual political battle.

Sorry, just can't have people yelling about politics here. Es ugly.

Understood

Will do.

I guess it was the beatings made me wise. But I'm not about to give thanks, or apologize.

WHAT?

Oh...politics. Screw this diary - I ain't goin' near it!

I would totally read the Washington Post every single day if I cared at all about helping Dan Steinberg keep his job.

Down in Austin

I'm down here and tickets were downright hard to come by. They only had 100 available to the public and 40,000 people applied for the lottery drawing for them. It's interesting to see the politicking going on around town right now.

But not nearly as interesting as the month of recount following the 2000 presidential election

"Excuse me while I whip this out."

Politics

Politics are boring. Who would want to be involved in such a messy industry when you could work in sports?

True Dat

You will never find a more vicious hive of scum and villainy than Washington, DC. Hopefully, when I move it will clean up some...

So take that.

Yeah

Didn't really mean for the thread to be about politics per se. Just wondering if anyone got their hands on duckets.

I guess it was the beatings made me wise. But I'm not about to give thanks, or apologize.

re:

I'm one of the lucky ones..I was selected as an alternate..it's gonna be pretty cool, but they don't allow any types of recording devices (i.e. cell phones, etc)..so it's gonna be crazy w/ the security. Sucks that I can't bring my shank inside..oh well..:)

Since I don't live there anymore

what building are they going to hold it in?

Are Obama and Hill in town giving stump speeches or did they head to Guerros?

Were Colt and Quan asked

to wear their jerseys, or do they just wear them randomly during the off season?

by ArcticLonghorn on Feb 21, 2008 2:37 PM CST up reply actions

Colt probably wears his every day.

Just so everyone who does not recognize him believs he really is on the team.

Wade Miller?

He was a pretty solid pitcher for Houston, but to the point that a rehab start in Austin would be a huge event?

You must be talking about Clemens.

Major Applewhite at the debate.

No wonder he left Bama - he's a closet Democrat!
