S.I. Piece on Dribble-Drive Motion Offense
Great piece on Memphis' Dribble-Drive Motion Offense and how Calipari came to change his scheme. It's fun to listen to guys like Larry Brown talk about it like they do.
Anywho, this really got me into caring about X's and O's again. So I started breaking down some of Texas' game film a little more carefully. The article name drops UT as already having some of the elements, and I can see similarities in philosophy (although, obviously, we part company with DDM on the screens and spacing).
Question: is this something Barnes would ever consider? Given his propensity to recruit quick, smart guards and outside shooters, it's definitely do-able. But would Barnes consider it?

After people break down Memphis and the Celtics..
I dont think anyone will be above doing some form of AASAA, which as you say, the article says Barnes already is.
That article is a great read though, I watched Memphis on Wednesday after reading it and had a much greater understanding and appreciation for what they were doing. Highly enjoyable.

Yeah
I really enjoyed the focus on Walberg as some sort of savant. The article probably over-dramatized it a bit, but the fact is that this no-name is getting very high praise from the likes of Larry freaking Brown.
great read.
the SI article was a great one.
it reminded me of the feature in Dave Campbell's Texas Football a couple of years ago that followed the evolution of the spread offense in Texas high school football.
imagine sports journalism with more of these articles instead of endless personality pieces (i.e., Dale Jr. doesn't like his stepmother!).
