So... Much... Rugby! (And Tech Highlights!)

Texas Tech Highlights Video (WARNING, very loud, don't get caught at work listening to death metal.):

Last week's rugby game against A&M had to be rescheduled due to College Station being so dreadfully lame.  The game will now be played in B/CS at noon this Sunday.  Sound like too long to wait?  Well then this is your lucky weekend, folks!

Texas vs. SHSU. Saturday, 2PM at the IM fields in Austin!
Followed by:
Texas at Aggie. Sunday, noon in College Station!

That's right.  A double-header.

Where to start?

Texas is right in the thick of the conference race after Going 1-0-1 against Rice and Texas Tech this season, but the toughest part of the Longhorns' slate... well... is this weekend.  Both Sam Houston and A&M began the season ranked in the top 25 according to whoever ranks rugby clubs.  Dubiousness of the rankings aside, both clubs definitely deserve a ton of respect, as A&M is a perennial powerhouse club along with the LSU Tigers, who came within six inches of tying or dropping a match to Sam Houston State earlier this year.  The schedule may not have set up kindly for Texas' title hopes, but it is what it is, and Texas can't afford to look ahead on Saturday or feel tired on Sunday, because this is the season, people!

I'm not going to set this weekend up with the usual scenario-setting and story-pondering, but rather with a simple request:

If you find yourself with 90 extra minutes at 2PM in Austin Saturday, come out to the game and cheer on the Longhorns against the Bearcats (WTF is that?  I checked, and they don't even have genetic engineering as a major!).  And if you find yourself skulking around College Station around noon on Sunday hoping for an excuse to put on your Texas tee, annoy some Aggies, and sneak a mid-day beer in the sun, let Texas Rugby be that excuse.

Don't be shy about asking the second side players what's going on, we don't get tired of explaining it.  Hope to see some of you out there, and as always...

Ruck 'em,
Maul 'em,
Hook 'em, 'Horns!
