Crybaby Oklahoma gets wins back
I guess whining does get you somewhere. The NCAA reinstated OU's 8 wins from the 2005 season that were taken away because of Bomar and the dealership scandal.

So after an appeals process, Oklahoma isn't going to be punished by the NCAA for their infractions. Sure, they had "self-imposed" punishments, but come on NCAA committee guys, are you seriously gonna fall for that? Seems like they got off real easy on this one.

Dont get me wrong...
I hate the sooners as much as the next longhorn...but what does getting back the wins do any ways, its not a "real" punishment, a real one would be losing scholorships or something of taht sort...but taking away 8 wins...its nothing
The NCAA
Dropped the ball long ago on this one. What does taking away games that have already been played teach anyone, especially in a year they didn't do shit? The players didn't suffer because they weren't forced to miss anything. It didn't hurt the school, they still made their bowl appearance and took what ever proceeds they got. The coaches didn't suffer. They let it all fall on Bomar's back and pretended like it was news to them a this wasn't a recurring problem.
And now... the NCAA is washing their hands of the entire situation by reinstating the ONLY punishment they handed down--despite their previous leniency. As pointless as it was to take their wins away, I find it just as futile to reinstate them. Why did the NCAA even bother with an investigation?
What I've learned throughout my days is that offenders who go virtually unpunished for wrongdoings never learn that what they did was wrong. And if the NCAA wants to let them off this time so easily, they're going to have to open another investigation down the road.
Oklahoma, the most cheating program in the NCAA!
Obviously the NCAA has yet to learn their lesson about oklahoma, they obviously never will. Since the days of switzer it seems like any sport in norman is subject to cheating (sampson). i believe it all comes from the inferiority complex to that great state they want to be like, so much. stoops can play dumb all he wants, but he knew what was going on. i do not know to many 18-21 year old kids that can keep their mouth shut when it comes to bragging, and for how much trouble bomar was constantly getting into. i am sure he was running his mouth off. it is only a matter of time until stoops is caught.

Jealousy Runs Deep With You Guys
I guess it would be too much to acknowledge to OU did dismiss their starting quarterback from the team along with the other players involved. I guess that doesn’t hurt the team at all. Then again I guess it does make perfect sense, in your Texas logic, to further punish the rest of the team for the actions of three knuckleheads.
Staying with your logic, that Stoops had to know it was going on, I guess Mack Brown is very aware of the drug dealers, home invaders, and robbers that fill the Texas locker room. Yet he endangers the entire 40 Acres by letting them roam freely with no warning to the general public. You gotta love men of integrity!

Does anyone else wonder?
Does anyone else wonder why someone would peruse the bloggery of a hated rival? Especially after one of the Texas comments was about an inferiority complex. Hurt more than you help, much?
...Jealousy Runs Deep With You Guys
I have always just lurked, but this one deserves a response.
The car dealership in question has provided cars for the athletic staff and jobs for players for years. It was an open secret. The person who shared this information with me played football at OU. Even past players laughed at Stoops response that he didn't know. Everyone knew!
I don't fault any coach when a 19 or 20 year old kid makes a stupid, life-altering decision like stealing, drug use, etc. They cannot monitor the boys 24 hours a day. If the coaches checked out the kid's background before he entered the university, and there wasn't a problem, how can they possibly know that the same kid will commit a crime. I certainly didn't blame Stoops when one of his players was caught stealing. How the coach handles the situation and discipline after the fact is what matters.
